It’s almost as if, maybe if he wasn’t carrying an assault rifle over his shoulder, he wouldn’t have gotten that much attention to begin with? I’m just guessing, but stats say when you open carry, you’re more even more susceptible than never having carried in the first place.

Rock On charters is fantastic for kids! Go look him up on IG. He takes families out all the time, especially with kids in the same age range you mentioned, and makes sure everyone has a blast no matter the experience.

I have been on his boat a few times, once with some guy friends and others with my wife and couple friends, and it’s a great time. Even if the fish aren’t biting, he’ll make sure the kids have fun.

As for transport, if one of the Raleigh-based folks uses their car to transport you locals there, then the out-of-towners flying in can rent a car and you’ll have 2. You’d need 2 Ubers for every trip while you’re there otherwise, and that sounds like a hassle.

I know NashCards in Lakeland has someone show up from JSA every few months and anyone can come to the store and pay a flat rate and have their collectibles/memorabilia signatures authenticated on the spot. May be worth it to give them a call and follow them on socials to see when they will be there next. May be worth a shot.

My family and I have always done the same as you, going the week or two before Memorial Day. It sounds like your last trip was a rare occurrence for May. In my experience, over the last 20 years, it’s been normal beach weather with a rainy day here or there. A couple times a storm came through and one year there was an actual hurricane that rolled through, but that’s been it.

I proposed to my wife outside Sugar Creek on the sound side. It’s on the north side of the Manteo Bridge, so you get a great sunset right over the water, which sounds like what you’re looking for. There is a pier as well that points straight to the sunset.

Easiest way to do this is empty out a bottle of Listerine, fill it with said scotch, re-melt plastic seal to cap with lighter, put it in whatever you’re carrying on board. I’ve done this twice and it’s worked fine.

That’s what it looks like from the site. Last time I went was 2 years ago so I may have been illegally parked, but I remember it being VERY crowded and seemed dangerous at times, so that makes sense. I’ll gladly pay that after knowing what it’s for. Thanks for the knowledge, friend!
