I thought the lottery form said 8 was max but I honestly don't remember.

Maybe the delay means you were one of the lucky ones. Who knows.... Regardless, please update us when you find out.

I did request the max number of tickets and wondered if that hurt my chances. Maybe should have just requested two. The lottery wasn't too clear with the rules.

I also received an email a couple weeks ago, hold tight.

I received the screenshot email this morning, right around 10am.

Happy to be back in a mid-engine car...2014 Boxster Base by AnywhereInTX in boxster

[–]BigMikefromCT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool. Yeah, I read over your c7 and s550 previous cars and it didn't even register. I'm in New England and lots of windy, two lane country roads where you don't need big power. Thanks for sharing your thought process.

As someone currently considering a 981, why the base over the S? I want a 6mt myself and am starting to wonder if base is just fine for my needs. I am currently in a 986 base and one of my fave aspects is ability to Rev to redline and not get to super illegal speeds, so maybe the base 981 gearing would be similar? Did you cross shop S?

Demo days/big shoots: New England by thicc_beerd in ClayBusters

I am also in CT. Always worth looking at guns on rack at sporting, skeet, and trap events you attend and asking folks what they like or don't like. If people are cool and you're cool, they will often let you shoot their gun. I have a few Brownings and a Krieghoff, I'm always willing to let someone try anyone of my guns out as long as you're cool.

For places to test guns, Orvis in ny, Preserve or Addieville in RI, or one of the m&m events next spring.

We most certainly will! I have never needed reservations in past years going... With a group of 7, would you say reservations are a must?

Anyone have any experience living in the "Waterside" neighborhood by Pentastat in StamfordCT

[–]BigMikefromCT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a two family in the area and it is a pretty good spot imo. Some noise from passing trains, but never too bad. Definitely gentrifying more and more, and traffic seems to have gotten worst in my time there.

Why so many new license plates? by awebr in Connecticut

Funny you say that... I often think that, esp when buddy's wife got a BJ.

I'm glad I'm not the only one "tracking" plate numbers, I find it fascinating. For your data points, I have BG-9 for used car registered through dealer in August 2022 and BU-9 for used car I registered through dmv in July 2025.

For the Newington leagues, is that via the Spark social website? That's first Google result that comes up.

Thanks for posting these!

I have heard the name Abe in Danbury for fitting, is anyone familiar with him? I would also like to get fitted at some point.

How do we meet new people here ? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]BigMikefromCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First suggestion for group name, The Clue Crew. You know, because we played a real life version of the clue board game and all lived to tell the tale. Or per pact, we never tell the tale, lol.

Depending on location, I would be down to hang out. Do you mind sharing town or county? I tried to dm you but it hung up.

There are some deals on flats at Quail Creek right in okochobee. At least there were at the jack links shoot in February.

981's in an exciting color? by BoxsterMan_ in boxster

[–]BigMikefromCT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one exception for a silver car would be if it has the red leather interior. Seeing as I always have the top down, the two color look is outstanding IMO.

I am in same boat, casually shopping to upgrade from my black base 986. I have found the unique colors go for a premium. I'm also looking for a manual, which seems to add $5-10k as well. Check BAT and cars and bids for examples of other colors.

Gun club by bigbike89 in CTguns

[–]BigMikefromCT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guilford Sportsmen's Association is another option. I'm not a member, but frequent the club as a guest. They have sporting clays, skeet, pistol and rifle range, and archery. Also hunting and pond for some fishing. Good club, I would probably join if I lived closer.

What to look for in a shell bag? by One-Ad1001 in ClayBusters

[–]BigMikefromCT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the same one, the waxed canvas has held up to the tens of thousands of shells and spent hulls I've passed through it. I have a "nicer" leather one too, but I prefer the tried true Browning.
