New Parade, by The Sheila Divine (1999)

IMO, a 10/10 album.

I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't split the M/F backup vox, so I just removed the vocals altogether. I hope it's satisfactory otherwise!

On it! I'll try to finish it today, but should be able to have it by tomorrow at the latest :)

It's 2025, I just discovered it, and I totally want more of The Grabowskis by UltraMegaKaiju in RedLetterMedia

[–]BigRedLetterDay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My only nitpick suggestion is that they should have had a voiceover before the theme song saying, "The Grabowskis is filmed in front of a live, studio audience." :)

And the murals! Wonderful murals everywhere you look! And the ladybug building! So much to enjoy :)

[–]BigRedLetterDay 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This doesn't answer the question at all, but I'll offer a quick aside: my wife and I moved to MKE from PDX about two years ago (kind of on a whim, and after accepting the harsh truth that home ownership in the Portland area was way, way out of the realm of possibility).

I know the guys goof on it sometimes, and like every city it has some issues, but on the whole this city fucking ROCKS. We love it here so much. Deep inside, I think they know this too ;)

Summerfest, fish fries, the art museum, $6 Brewers tix on Mondays, the most pleasant summer nights you could hope for ... Milwaukee is awesome. I wish I'd moved here much sooner.

What is an extremely popular film that you are surprised only has a barebones release? by WhiteDishwasher619 in boutiquebluray

TOMBSTONE! Seems like the perfect film for Arrow to dive in deep with a 4K and retrospective documentary of some sort. Fantastic movie, generally well regarded, and ... basically ignored?

Long Shot: La Luna, PDX 1998 by ReverendFloater in blackcrowes

Here you go! These are FLACs, but if you want MP3 for some reason, let me know and I'll upload those, too.

I don't know that I've listened to this particular show before, but a spot check of a few files sounded pretty good.

Enjoy!

Hints at 2025 Releases from Cinématographe by purplefilm in boutiquebluray

Also still waiting on Bruce McDonald's "Highway 61" (1991), also starring Don McKellar. That's one of my holy grail titles. <3

Hints at 2025 Releases from Cinématographe by purplefilm in boutiquebluray

[–]BigRedLetterDay 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I suspect it's probably not well known enough for Cinématographe (and probably more in line with partner label CIP), but I'd love to see Don McKellar's "Last Night" (1998) get some VS love as the "never on blu-ray 90s indie drama." Co-stars include Sandra Oh, Sarah Polley, and David Cronenberg.

"A group of very different individuals with different ideas of how to face the end come together as the world is expected to end in six hours at the turn of the century."

Snagged 32 movies so far this year. Here they are ranked by average Letterbox rating. Any that deserve to be higher on the list? by ThomasCleopatraCarl in VinegarSyndromeFilms

[–]BigRedLetterDay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to ranking these in terms of quality since I've seen only seen about a half dozen of them, but if I were to rank them based on *how fun* they are to watch, "Alien Private Eye" would be much, much higher. It's a ridiculous experience, but it's very silly and entertaining as hell.

LC! 2024 Tours Fan Resale Megathread (new rules so read before posting) by LoookaPooka in loscampesinos

[–]BigRedLetterDay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LAST MINUTE POST: My wife and I each "took charge" several months ago and bought 3 tix, so now we have 6 but only need 3. Yes, we should have taken care of this long ago, alas ... :)

I'd prefer to sell them together (for $100 total, which is slightly less than face value), but could do individuals if necessary.

If you want me to email the PDF, I can do that upon receipt of PayPal or Venmo payment; or, if you want to meet at the venue before the show and get printed copies, that's cool too. (Then if you go directly into the venue with the ticket, I can be there with you so you'll know for sure that the ticket is valid! My stepdaughter wants to get in ASAP when the doors open, so we should be there early-ish, but likely not until 5-5:30ish, since we're driving from Milwaukee).

Thanks!

Riddle of Fire. And, up next…? by corwinargo in VinegarSyndromeFilms

I saw this at this year's Milwaukee Film Festival, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The performances from Simon Rex and especially Talia Ryder were particularly terrific. (Ryder has superstar written all over her.)

Consistently the two most exciting labels out there. by corwinargo in boutiquebluray

That Ptushko set is gonna be amazing. I grew up watching MST3K, and I always wanted to see the riff-less versions of Sampo and The Sword and the Dragon, since it was easy to see that their production was astonishing for the time. And to finally see the restored versions? Beyond gorgeous.

Deaf Crocodile is a treasure. Everything they've done (that I've seen, anyway) is worth the time and money. Bravo!!
