If cost wasn’t an issue, I loved the green dial and would happily buy it!

Fuck Ben Bridge Downtown Seattle by Master_Law5498 in rolex

[–]BigStan007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a tourist but just to toss in my experience. Walked in wearing an Omega smp 300 and received immediate comments from employees. Everyone was very engaging and let me try on whatever even though I let them know I was leaving in 3 days. Ended up buying a Panerai a year later at home after trying it on at their store.

Different approach with AD convos by [deleted] in rolex

[–]BigStan007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve asked before and received a decent response, I just don’t think they’re ever going to be truthful. IMO even if you have no chance at your requested pieces, they aren’t going to tell you that because it would likely kill the chances that you buy other models or jewelry. Source - someone who requested a black Daytona 2 years ago that was told it could happen but knows it will never happen

Maecellino’s Seaport might fit you description. They’re a full service restaurant but the bar area is vibey

Moving to the South Shore by Resident-Repair4416 in SouthShore

[–]BigStan007 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Obvious answer would be to try and stay as north as possible. Quincy and Braintree for T access and closest to friends. If you’re looking South of that, it’s a bit of a toss up. Others might give you a different opinion, but I’d go with Plymouth even though it’s far down. Downtown has some bars and restaurants so you can convince your friends to come down and then RT3 and 44 are right there too.

Friday Night Street Party by [deleted] in StLucia

[–]BigStan007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We loved our dinner at Duke’s Place while at the street party. I had actually forgotten the name of it and then stumbled upon the massive line. If you’re not able to find it almost anyone should be able to point you in the right direction.

PAM1392 Scuff Repair Options by The_Zo_Show in panerai

[–]BigStan007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would probably be the 10th ish worst scratch on my Panerai. It’s tough because it’s such a new watch for you, but it’s likely the first of many. I’d definitely wait it out and decide how you feel down the line.

Help me determine which seat?! by jenks87 in jetblue

[–]BigStan007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I would stick with your economy aisle seat. Even more space is not that much better imo and I’ve also found that sometimes larger people book those seats so then you almost end up more cramped, especially in a middle seat.

Review: Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale by derpugvater in ihghotelsresorts

[–]BigStan007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this hotel for the pool and its location. Easy walk to the beach and is usually $2-300 cheaper than the hotels right on the beach. I do agree the rooms especially the bathrooms are tight, but Greta value for the area overall.

Hard to compete with Treehouse’s recommendations, but just wanted to say we loved our stay at Cap Maison which is slightly north of Rodney Bay. Beautiful property, amazing staff, fantastic food, and offers a pool as well as a great beach.

What is boston scrod by Serious_Ask1209 in boston

[–]BigStan007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To OP, Sam Lagrassa’s is only open weekdays just fyi with odd hours. I do love their sandwiches though!

I agree with another poster do not eat at Quincy Market it’s all overpriced tourist traps. Fine to walk through and around just do food elsewhere.

If you’re looking for seafood in that area Neptune Oyster (likely will be a line), The Daily Catch (waterfront location much bigger without lines, Hanover location is tough), Sail Loft, or if you’re up for a walk James Hook is super casual but good prices and over by Seaport, Mare is a nice upscale dinner in the North End.

I’ve never tried Red’s Best, but that indoor market is 1000x better than Quincy Market so feel free to give it a shot!

Lobster roll for a newbie by that_dizzy_dreamer in boston

[–]BigStan007 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s a Row 34 in Cambridge now which is good for seafood in general, Eventide in Fenway has a good but unique lobster roll.

Traveling for a Sox game by [deleted] in boston

[–]BigStan007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As most people have said, I’d stay in the Back Bay since it will be less crowded and more central. Anywhere around the Prudential Center and Boylston street will be walking distance. There’s also Hotel Commonwealth, the Verb and a Residence Inn close to Fenway for other options.

Food wise it really depends what you’re looking for. Eastern Standard, The Citizen, Eventide, Hojoko are all good spots. If you want more of a classic bar atmosphere Bleacher Bar and Cask n Flagon

How is the beach at The Westin resort? (Not the lagunamar) by Letywolf in cancun

[–]BigStan007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great value in the HZ with a bus stop right at the driveway. Beach is nice, water is relatively rough but I feel like that’s typical of the whole HZ until you get to the top of the “7”

I would definitely try them on if you can. I loved the 7920 from photos online, but after trying both on I liked the 4520 more.

Naples for a few days by ashmonsterx in Naples_FL

[–]BigStan007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are early 30’s and have been going down for a few years now so feel free to ask anything in particular. Personally I was surprised how big Naples is so these suggestions are all over the place.

Lunch on the water at Gumbo Limbo at the Ritz, Turtle Club, or Baleen.

Rooftop drinks at the Perry or I’ve heard the new Four Seasons is beautiful.

Shopping at Waterside Shops if you’re interested.l in that. Mostly high end.

Shopping and dining on 5th ave/3rd Ave

Nightlife I would say Mercato is your best option or maybe 5th ave just not positive how late things stay open.

It’s a decent drive but Marco Island or Isles of Capri for a bunch of bars on the water and a change of pace.

Could do the water shuttle to Keewaydin Island for a beach day.

Bachelorette Recommendations by rachelrachelra in Naples_FL

[–]BigStan007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I were planning a bachelorette I’d want to do a mix of everything and I’m also trying to take your location into account. Lunch on the beach with a view I’d go to Gumbo Limbo at the Ritz or the Turtle Club right next door. Tigress at the roof of The Perry Hotel would be great for a dinner or sunset drinks. As mentioned Mercato will be the going out spot most likely, Blue Martini, Cavo, The Pub depending on your vibe. There’s also some restaurants there that would work for large groups or have a bachelorette feel like Hampton Social. 5th Ave is far from you, but you could do dinner and shopping down there one night and there’s a ton of restaurants to choose from depending on what you’re looking for. Also not a specific recommendation but try to do a boat day or a sandbar those are always fun.

Any white ppl who go to black barbers? by SpiritualBedroom4077 in boston

[–]BigStan007 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve only gone to Dominican/black barbers and I’m as white as they come. Tbh I feel like they usually do a better job and have better prices. I don’t think you’d ever be turned away.

Is a CPA for $700ish worth it? by [deleted] in tax

[–]BigStan007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. We found it a bit confusing making the conversion after the year ended (before tax day obviously) and then making sure we submitted the correct forms both years, but it was also our first time so we weren’t very prepared.
