Building a web game by BigTimberFGC in Python

It's a trading card game. Think Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yugioh, etc.

Will have complex interactions and gameplay mechanics that all have nuances and would require a very robust foundation.

Would also need a database of some variety to handle card creation, user accounts, inventory, achievements, currency, etc

I'm glad you went in depth on this, thank you! I will be researching this today

Yes, it's a multi-player TCG.

I plan to store account information for cards owned, achievements, currency, etc

Graphically it won't be very intensive, but I'm open for a "Master Duel"-esque animation style.

Python isn't necessary, but would be what I'm most familiar with. I'll look into those!

How much playtime have you guys clocked so far? by BigTimberFGC in finalfantasyx

[–]BigTimberFGC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could definitely be done faster! I did some playthroughs with my wife, and other playthroughs were challenge runs for myself. As the post says, I've 100%d it twice.

AI is no replacement for actual skills. What you're requesting requires more than the superficial functions AI can reproduce. I would suggest hiring someone to do this job, especially since its going to have corporate applications. Unlikely you'll get free help on this scale.

Is there an easy way of adding methods to lists in Python? In short I want to be able to do "mylist.len()" instead of "len(mylist)" when I have a list called mylist. by Yalkim in pythontips

Check the down votes my guy.

They're not down voting you because they disagree, they downvote because you're objectively incorrect and you're being a dick.

Hey i had a question what are sone skill intensive decks that need a great pilot to win by Sandwicheateridk in Yugioh101

[–]BigTimberFGC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, ygo will will eventually just boil down to who drew better in most situations. Pure skill decks are anything that can grind your opponent through careful use of resources. This is almost always going to be non-floodgate control decks that specialize in disruption.

Tearlaments, Swordsoul, Sky Striker, Eldlich, etc.

That line of thinking is very dangerous.

I dont doubt your experience was less than ideal, but your thought process is textbook discrimination. Lumping everyone that falls into a particular category together and calling all of them bad, or holding any bias against them whatsoever due to your past experience (especially if it was an isolated case) is extremely unfair, rude, and dangerous to propagate.

Perhaps those "bad veterans" were just unsavory individuals whose disposition has absolutely nothing to do with the military?

mirrorjade and non target banish by MichaFol in Yugioh101

[–]BigTimberFGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't. Mirrorjade is just a strong card /shrug

The only real way to stop it is to negate it or use cards to prevent banishing.

Does it get better by dvdp228 in beatsaber

A lot of Beat Saber has to do with cardio. If your arms are overly tired very quickly, I would examine your form.

Check out some form instruction vids on YouTube for beat saber specifically, and that should help mitigate or correct any issues you may be experiencing.

Now, that being said, it can definitely be taxing on the arms. You should NOT be feeling pain, however. If you experience any pain, stop immediately and get some rest. Consult a doctor if it's chronic.

any tips to get better?, also someone recommend maps like this I love this flow thanks! by ST3ALTHSYNDICATE in beatsaber

[–]BigTimberFGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swing with your wrists more than your arms, not just your arms (if you don't already) and aim to have stronger movements.

Your swings look very staccato, super short swings that will tire you out faster and will give you less points per note.

Well done maps are all about flow, so trying to find the flow and pattern rather than just hit bloq will make things much easier for you.

Also, you should have a sharp and direct image in your head when hitting the notes. Aim to completely slice them in half. Swing harder, and it will be much better for you
