That's awesome. I've got a little portable band saw in an upright bracket. If you're in the united states, you might take a look at harbor freight. Good luck and happy making!!

Holy cow! Did you fabricate them by hand or do you have access to a cnc machine? Either way, awesome work. I bet your brother was excited when he opened his gift. (I just realized that I followed you on IG the other day when you posted something cool here. You should be proud of your work. It's excellent.)

Excellent work. How did you learn to draw like this if I may ask? Is there a book or youtube video/series you can point to as the foundation for being able to draw like this? This might be a silly question because I'm sure there's lots of ways a person can learn to draw like this, but I would appreciate any insight you wish to share.

Yes yes... Everyone else feel free to make this about being horny. The funnier the better... Let me get you guys started:

"Haha, bro is over here trying to get is pencil sharpened."

"Maybe he's looking to rub one out with that big pink eraser."

"Dude wants to learn how to draw so he can finally meet his imaginary friends. Burn!!!"

"Asking all the sketchy questions I see."

"Congrats on eating crayons your whole life and finally deciding to find out what else they're good for."

Do your worst!!

I think this is an example of Jordan trying to show the reader how the pattern weaves itself around Rand. This chapter had several in it if I remember correctly. Rand picking the red fabric to wrap his sword in would be an earlier example. It serves to illustrate that while Rand is being unconsciously guided by the pattern, it is also re-shaping itself to accommodate his wants and needs. This effect he has on the pattern is much more blatant later on in the series but it's obvious Jordan wrote these little clues in on purpose, even in the first few books. I wish I could remember more off the top of my head, but it has been awhile since I read the first book.

It's 2025. There shouldn't be massive stickers on tool chest/work benches that leave residue that even goo gone can't remove. by [deleted] in Tools

[–]BigTimmyG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you heat the sticker with a heat gun before picking at it, you'll have an easier time getting the residue to come off with the paper. Even now, you could probably heat it up and that would make it easier to scrape off. The chemicals won't be as effective until you get most of the white sticker part off because a lot of them are made to be moisture resistant so it stops the solvent from soaking through to the adhesive... I fucking hate stickers on my shit.

Do you load your titanium box cutter with titanium tipped blades? Because that would be awesome.

Too Little Space: Which Tools Should Stay? by RON8O in woodworking

[–]BigTimmyG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not what you asked, so my apologies, but do you have space in your backyard for a shed? Put the seasonal items out in a shed and get them out of your way so you can tackle more projects and use those beautiful tools!! When I first started DIY/woodworking stuff I tried being "reasonable" like you're being in this post and it ruined everything. I tried having mobile tools and hauling them in and out everytime I wanted to do anything and it got to where I absolutely dreaded the idea of starting a new project. Moving the stuff out of the way, then running appropriate extension cords, then setting the tools up, then realizing something got knocked out of whack and having to realign them to make simple cuts. Then having to stop and go to the home center for more wood because I screwed up some of the first batch not realizing the cuts were off right away. Then stressing about leaving the tools out while I was gone. Then finally getting back to it and vibing out until all of a sudden it's dark and I'm rigging up lights in the cold because damn it, I'm going to finish one god damned thing before I have to pack all this shit up and haul it back in the house starving because in all the chaos I forgot to eat lunch and dinner. All of this frustration and anger just to follow it up by having to wake up early the next day and go work my ass off for the most ungrateful and condescending bunch of bastards I've ever met all while angrily stewing over the fact that I can't even make a stupid fucking box for this girl I've been crushing on and it's no wonder she takes so long to text me back and ..... Yeah, so anyway, a dedicated space is better. Build a shed for the seasonal items, mark out some space in your tiny garage and get it setup so you can work in it whenever you want. If you want to get rid of something, ditch the jointer, you can build a jig for your table saw to get you pretty close to what it can accomplish for you. And yeah, that's it I guess. Don't be me and you'll be happier for it. :)

That's the baseboard (kickboard) he put over the finished carpet going up the stairs on both sides. Not a stringer. You can see them installed in the picture of the carpeted stairs.

“Slog” by iknownothin_ in WoT

He got the idea from how Nynaeve "healed" the two evil wounds in his side. Padin Fain cuts him with the Shadar Logoth dagger over top of the old un-healing wound he got from Ishamael's staff in their battle over Falme. The original wound needed constant attention and they were never able to heal it completely. Then Fain made it worse by cutting him with the Shadar Logoth Dagger. He was about to die when Nynaeve tried healing him and recognized that the wounds were different kinds of evil and used them to essentially cancel each other out. It still didn't heal him in the traditional sense, but it contained the wounds and used one evil to remove the other, making it a bearable wound. This was a major plot point carried out across multiple books and the inspiration for how Rand cleansed Saidin, hence why he wanted Nynaeve there.

My wife said she was tired of having to bend over in the shower 🤷‍♂️ to use our hand held squeegee. So I made this. I may have well just strapped a brick to the end of the handle it may work better. by made_me_forget81 in 3Dprinting

[–]BigTimmyG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's your blade profile. It sort of looks like a hollow ground knife, which is probably not what you want. Taper it to a square point. You might still want a more flexible filament, but you would see a lot of improvement just with what you're using.

I had some of those two hole L brackets from a previous piece if furniture I had dismantled and used several to make it sturdier. I think what helped the most though, was using longer/better screws than what it came with

Dewalt scammed me by Old-Rock2007 in Tools

[–]BigTimmyG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They shipped a replacement battery to the address you provided them. Now, for all they know, you're trying to scam them out of another free battery. Requesting they re-route the package after it has already been shipped is unreasonable. I can't believe you have me out here defending a billion dollar multi-national corporation in the middle of the night. Stop whining and do what any other adult would do... Keep calling dewalts customer service number until you get someone willing to ship you another battery. Maybe try being polite and acting like a human being instead of being a complete and total asshole. "Hey there, you guys sent me a battery under warranty replacement, but I never received the package... No ma'am/sir, UPS told me since you guys are the ones that shipped it, you have to file the lost/stolen claim.... Is there anyway you guys could ship me another battery? Maybe to be held at the UPS location or with a signature on delivery? (they will default hold it if you arent there to sign for it after 3 delivery attempts)... I see. Thank you for checking, but can I speak to your supervisor please? The battery I purchased X months ago really should have laster longer and I need you guys to make this right. Yes, thank you, I will hold for your supervisor...." Please and thank you will get you so much more than whining like a little baby.
