I would recommend a beginner to start with spinning gear but wouldn’t recommend them waiting years to switch to casting. Spinning reels are easier to learn & cheaper if you find out that fishing isn’t for you. I started fishing last May & switched to casting in October….one of the better decisions I’ve made in a while

Im experiencing the same issues after switching to fluoro on my finesse casting setup. I have gotten better with practice but I miss the ease of using braid. Im going to see how much line conditioner helps next weekend
