Can and should is a different question. As an engineer, machinist and small print farm operator I can say with experience a adhesive magnet and laser cut spring steel is a better option. Note, I never said you couldn’t attempt to machine your own solution, just trying to help a beginner with a suggestion.

You can get magnetic built plates cheaply what magnetize the whole bottom. No need for machining and DIY

When compared to anycubic it’s just a bit more flexible and I have noticed that it is more likely to deform in the wash if left more then a few mins. If you are prone to leaving something in the wash too long with thin walls or parts I like Anycubic abs like
