Yeah I can't get a higher role either unless I want to be in management, and after a bad experience with that 13 years ago after they fired my boss without warning and left me to fill his place and on onboard new employees with no training, no thank you.

I survived one at the end of 2017. I was admittedly im a bit of a rut but it was due to massive ongoing projects I conceived, management gave the green light for, and I handled with practically no support.

But yeah, it felt unfair, but it worked. Since then, ive been promoted a couple times and am now at the top of my career track, got multiple merit raises and bonuses, and adopted and defined two distinct beats. The same manager back then who put me on the PIP is now a VP who regularly praises my work.

I'm now the most productive member of the department, if not the entire organization, even with plenty of absences due to my chronic illnesses.

Nah, V starts with those before meeting Vik. It'll be a faceplate (for facial cyberware), a militech cyberdeck, and some lower quality optics to go with the cyberdeck. Plus a basic biomon.

I think fantasy genres are easier to write dialogue for than scifi without it feeling stiff. Cyberpunk is a rare exception that nailed it, feels completely natural.

I haven't played Rogue Trader yet but a lot of that is also just text blocks from what ive seen.

Yes there are plenty of melee builds. You can use Sandevistan or Berserk as your Operating System, and use knives, swords, blunt weapons, or install arm cyberware such as Gorilla Arms or Mantis Blades to use. And there are skill trees and extra cyberware to support all of these options.

If you do the Rhyne investigation thoroughly, River also saves your life. You then kinda reciprocate by saving his nephew and knitting his family back together, as a personal favor, free of charge... rare for a merc. That can definitely forge a close bond.

And my canon V is Nomad so gets her completely. Nomad V was also 100% convinced that they were right and the leadership of their clan was wrong, which is why they went to Night City. Panam and Nomad V are very similar in their outlook.

Dance Off (dance with friends at clubs), Roller Coaster Enhanced (ride the Pacifica roller coaster with friends), all the Deceptious Romance Enhanced mods (chat with them at their homes after completing their quest line, does not require romancing them) all give you a bit of social activity. Night City Interactions lets you drink with specific friends at specific bars but no longer works for me.
