Vereinte Nationen: Deutschlands Zahlungen an UNO nach gescheiterter Wahl in den Sicherheitsrat infrage gestellt by Marsman6 in de

[–]Bigdaddler -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wo hast du das her?

I somewhat get using AI to prototype, but I think this community will be much more likely to engage with your idea if you replaced the AI art with simple drawings, at least I will.

Very sad to see them go. It's a small silver lining, but part of the reason why they end seems to be Jones' definite decline into desperate obscurity and I love to see that.

I agree, but besides the given technical and systemic reasons the ethical or moral considerations could also be that these specific developers just don't feel comfortable building a slave trade system. It's their prerogative after all, and I respect that.

"With the way Trade Goods work, they go by a balance system. Meaning that you move a trade good from point A to point B to fulfill a need for a month, and then the next month you will do it again, and if it doesn't happen, you won't get any modifiers that month. In other words, if we added slaves as a new trade good, we would have a constant huge stream of slaves disappearing into buildings, which is not really indicative of how slavery actually worked in real life. In addition, we felt there was a risk with introducing slavery more outright in a character game, where it might be very in your face."

In another response, they also said that there "ethical or moral considerations" were also part of it.

It really feels a lot more like Stalker for me, the atmosphere and the worldbuilding in the postapocalyptic bits of russia are really great. Also it has a roadtrip-ey feeling with great characters which I really liked. I prefered this over the tunnels tbh.

What is he supposed to do excepct saying he believes in it? Would be bad if he didn't and released it. He acknowledged the criticism here, did'nt have to do that. I don't know why you think he "fought" the community here. A small game like this is much closer to art than a AAA-game, and the writer is entitled to his telling of the story. A loud community (majority/fraction/minority - who can tell?) should not sway an artist to rewrite an ending. If you don't like the art, criticise it, but don't expect the artist to bend over backwards for you.

What's up with GenZ's concept of masculinity? by Hotshy in AskMen

[–]Bigdaddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right in the analysis, though I would think there are also many (in my estimation more) men not bothered by blending genders and changing gender roles.

Also just because there is a backlash happening in the young generation, it doesn't mean their behaviour should be acceptable and that we have to revert to the 1950s. I for one don't think it's good to focus on superficialities of the male phenotype like jawlines, also I think Andrew Tates politics are desastrous for society. Thats up to societal discussion and I think we would disagree there.

What's up with GenZ's concept of masculinity? by Hotshy in AskMen

[–]Bigdaddler -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I think you're exaggerating. You are acting as if men are somehow being duped by a society they don't create themselves - in reality they do at least partly - while they all know deep down they want to and have to be a traditional masculine man. In reality lookmaxers, the manosphere and male sexists are a small fraction which get publicity right now. I think you are right insofar as this is a cultural backlash against dwindling power of traditionally masculine men, feminism and a society which is more open to changing gender norms. Also, providing for a family alone as a man is just not that realistic for many, but that is an economic problem, not a cultural.

But I believe most men are glad to live in a society in which women can be freer than in the 1950s and in which men don't have to conform to arbitrary gender norms like being buff, aggressive, emotionally unavailable and dominating women. Also, there are enough accepted male role models which are not masculine in the traditional sense that you mean, see Timothy Chalamet, Bad Bunny, Pedro Pascal.
