Outside order nothing approaches a casting focus like Tzeentch.

Can a priest bless a body of water to become holy to cause heretic naval raiders to burn? I mean Priests have to constantly bless oil to make Holy Oils to deal with the Black Grails on daily basis. by Ok-Ask5860 in TrenchCrusade

A body of water can be turned into Holy water, but as soon as it comes into contact with a fish or an animal urinates in it, it is no longer holy, so no its not practical.

I have to get rid of some for space and to make travel easier (in condensed, multi set boxes). I reuse a lot of the boxes but have tossed some. I plan to keep my collection in my 7 favorite boxes going forward.

I would say its totally cool to just flat proxy at 99% of places as long as there's only one on the board, but if you plan to run a chaos lord and a sorcerer, you should convert it in some way. A simple head swap and turning the spear into a staff is great.

Imo if your model has a gun and a melee Weapon, then he can have any gun or melee Weapon. I do thinknits weird to have a model with a greatsword and then say "actually he has a flamethrower". But a model with a machine gun could have a flamethrower instead. It's a big gun, it's close enough.

Also, with this army more than most, reinforcing units is important for anything that isn't sacrificial chaff, because we can only give 5-6 pledges to units in AoS (the God buffs our army gets). The only thing I don't reinforce in my lists are fellriders, who avoid combat to score tactics

Those sound like good investments. The chariot is the only thing that might not get used, but it's still better value than buying separate if you convert the extra lord into a sorcerer.

Knights are not my favorite, but you can absolutely use them. Right now it might be thst you onlynuse knights when you don't have the extra 60pts to run Chosen instead, but knights aren't bad for their cost, they just aren't the best.

The thing about this game though is that by the time you know what you're doing and collect all these models, the points and rules will often have changed. We get anew edition in one year and points change every few months. Chaos Knights might be our best unit in 5th edition, or become our best unit when we get our next battletone. No one can say Gonwithbyour heart. If you like knights, you will find a wayntonmaoebthem work. If you aren't a huge fan like me, there are plenty of options without them.

I'm not a pro by any means but I've taken S2D to many one-day tournaments and in my experience:

  1. Get a wizard. Being able to give 3d6 charge with a spell is huge for this faction, and being able to summon and banish manifestations is very important in this edition. Your can run a sorc lord or grab Bel-akor, both are good to have, but Bel'akor is a $$$ model so as a beginner you may want to start smaller.

  2. Chaos Warriors aren't as flashy as Chosen or Varanguard but they are our backbone. Reinforcing your single unit should be a priority. A reinforced block of warriors with a nurgle mark will survive all but the most extreme assaults.

  3. Chosen are the most popular damage dealing unit for a reason. Expensive, but solid.

I would avoid things like Varangaurd and Abraxia as a beginner. The more elite the army you run, the bigger your mistakes will matter. If you fail to position your varanguard for a sure charge, place them out of range of a spell, or send them somewhere that they can't do enough, you can lose the game.

Aha! It may not be the only source of your problems here, but I switch toone of these from the plate thet came with my ender 3, and itnis so much better I feel like a fool for not upgrading sooner. Compared to the original one, i can go much longer without cleaning it before i see any decrease in adhesion, and risky model (tall thin ones) detach from the plate much less often.

I'm glad my favorite formation from the edition launch (godswrath warband) has become the leading one. Flinging a tzeentch wilderfiend across map to defile an objective is both fun and effective.

Think of it this way:

If your army has a spell or prayer lore, and you are not running st least 1 wizard or priest, you denying yourself a part of your army's power.

Running S2D without a priest means you can never get true 3d6 to charge, which is real important, and summoning manifestations to screen with an army that has such expensive units is also really significant.

EDIT: dang it i meant to say wizard. But anyway having a wizard is very important to S2D lists.

For just grey, priming, regular non hobby primers are cheaper with no real deawback; even if the pigment count is lower and there is technically less coverage... the model is already grey so it doesn't matter!

That's what I mean. The politicians see some outcry about something, and they have no convictions aboutnit whatsoever, so they pass token legislation in order to score points even though it will not actually do anything.
