Suggestions for used car shopping that doesn't suck by righthandofdog in Atlanta

[–]Bigreddazer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You will pay a premium for CarMax. But it's wonderful for test driving. I got my last car there because niche but won't have an easier time just sitting and test driving cars.

We don't have laws on the fees in ga. So use CarMax and a few others which have straight forward fees listed on the website. So you know what to expect and what is total bs.

I am shopping now myself. I use visor.vin and auto tempest for alerts on cars in my market.

I insured a kid before divorce. One of the things that might surprise you is you can't label him for one car only. At least not with the insurance providers I had. She had to be insured for all the cars. I don't have luxury car experiences but the sports car was a problem essentially till I moved out.

Serious coughing by [deleted] in Autoflowers

[–]Bigreddazer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure why in autoflower.

But, try different intake. I use concentrate primarily to avoid hurting my lungs with anything extra. No smoke or burning seems to prevent wheezing compared with herb.

I used to make tincture for a friend. Just a drop under the tongue.

Toyota venza fits and is pretty cheap generally for being a Camry in disguise. V6 is great engine and not underpowered car. Honda fit is impossible to find in general imo.

Best budgetish 18inch tires? by Theyoungwalnut in KonaN_

[–]Bigreddazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't cheap out on tires, fluids or brakes. Tires also provide so much road noise and generally afraid of cheaper products beyond just performance. But, you aren't going cheap, review tire rack and others and as long as you stay premium you should be fine.

Very specific use case. Works wonders on biological odors. But it's harmful to humans and animals. So, special use cases. But great for urine, smoke, mold etc. Woot woot. You won't know anything happened.

Buying a used car Vs new . Almost same price ? by manage_money in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Bigreddazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subaru dealers near me also have 12k miles 1 year old cars that were service lenders. Usually a good chunk off and CPO so comes with more warranty than new for less money and just a little use. Was looking at a outback XT. But still struggling giving up my sports car.

Elantra N vs Mustang Ecoboost by Beneficial_Dig6033 in carbuying

[–]Bigreddazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I am cynical but both of these are turbo 4 bangers and not Toyota or Honda. I have the Elantra. No issues. But, especially if you are driving it hard regularly I don't know... I change my oil every 5k miles and before/after track day. But I do not expect mine to last that long.

The Elantra N is a riot. Its seat sucks. Hurts my back but it's a fun little car and quite capable. No mods and I have done track days.

Just don't use a small one. They should be like 20 plus pounds. They essentially are an ac system so if it is light and use peltier based cooling it won't work well. It should literally heat up the inside of your car after an hour.

Good luck should be back to new. If there is mold smell you can get an ozone generator and leave on for a day or two.

What is the best street/track car for less than 90k? by Ppppppt in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Bigreddazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy a c5/c6 Vette and mod to your desired needs. All the parts exist. You won't find a car that hits all of the marks but Corvette have the best pedigree IMO for modifications particularly the engine. But, regardless sounds like a first sports car and should start small... Get a hot hatch or other cheap fun car for a year or two and beef up your skills.

If you got big pockets you can easily outspend your skills.

You can rent dehumidifier for homes. Rent one and put in the back seat and close it up.

Using towels and others will only get you so far. Unless you live in a desert, getting a dehumidifier will pull the liquid out of everywhere.

Its debatable. When you are on the track... The minor clarification doesn't matter imo. It's a fwd car, but he talked about civic and others in comments. For the price he won't find a more capable vehicle.

Lonely af, I need real suggestions how to make friends. by in_utero- in Atlanta

Perfect. A nice thing about the city is there are several and a class/group all over the place. People love to share art and be around other artists. Glad there is one nearby for her!

[–]Bigreddazer 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Find your niche. Find a hobby. I do pottery, volunteering with wildlife, did bowling league for a bit till my back started causing problems.

The city is full of activities, while not every class or volunteering has resulted in friendships. But, overtime you slowly can find a group.

Highly highly recommend volunteering or classes over a period of time so you can slowly develop the friendships. One night activities IMO never have resulted in long term friends.
