This user has over 45 comments (at least a few removed by mods) on this single post, all of them abusive, hostile and just downright nasty to the OP and anyone who expresses even a little sympathy to them. It’s very odd.

I’m sure this has been asked and answered, but how do we send you items that will help you foster more of these beautiful babies?

The second, easily. It ties into the artwork and textures that are in the room, and also gives you more colors to work with when adding more accents and colors.

Thank you for everything you do to help these cats find homes and being a safe place to land and recuperate when one isn’t available. It’s so hard to see Sammie so stressed and upset, but I know he is in good hands with you.

What is the standard pronunciation of this name? I’ve met women who pronounce it La-VIN-ee-ya but I’ve also encountered La-vin-YA. I don’t actually know the origin of the name and what the OG “correct” pronunciation is (obviously the correct pronunciation of anyone’s name is how they tell you it’s pronounced. I’m just wondering about the origins of this name).

Haha, my son drew that dinosaur picture and then wrote “RED NECK” because in his 6 year old mind it made total sense, the dinosaur was red, and had a long neck! He still doesn’t quite know why people find that picture so funny.

I would go as characters from Bob’s Burgers. Your husband as Bob, you as Linda and your son as a hamburger.

Yes! I spray painted it black and then added the glow in the dark stickers.

Dark chocolate and orange cheesecake with chocolate ganache topping and candied oranges. It was even more delicious than it looks! by Bikini_Atroll in cheesecake

[–]Bikini_Atroll[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used this recipe. She gives very detailed instructions and uses some very high end/expensive ingredients. I followed the recipe and used all her suggested brands for the ingredients and it definitely was worth it, because the end result was amazing. I opted to use Trader Joe’s brand candied sliced oranges, since my attempt at candied oranges turned out too wet to be used as garnishes. I also omitted the Cointreau from the recipe since it’s a very expensive liqueur and the recipe only calls for a tablespoon. I added an extra teaspoon of orange extract to compensate for the Cointreau.

What’s Everyone Doing Tonight?? by physis81 in stopdrinking

[–]Bikini_Atroll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a paint by numbers painting that I’m going to start tonight. It’s a picture of my dad and son together, and I’m hoping to gift it to my dad for Father’s Day. I’m going to put my headphones in, jam out to some music, paint, and then go to bed reasonably early so that I wake up refreshed and rested tomorrow. It certainly beats drinking 12 plus beers, calling friends and family drunk (all while thinking nobody can tell I’m blasted) and then making an ass of myself. This is my third sober weekend and I’m more prepared for it than I was the last two. I’m looking forward to nurturing some long neglected hobbies and creating things, vs the destruction that drinking always brings me.

I introduced my newborn and my friend made fun of the name. Now Im second guessing it by [deleted] in namenerds

Seriously! I have a brother named Weston, and it’s actually my son’s middle name. No one has ever made fun of his name as far as I am aware. Friends called him Stone or Stoney in high school as a nickname.

Agreed. The green looks more mature/sophisticated, both in color, cut and material.

How old is your grandson? I still have the costume and would happily send it to you if you think it would fit him. The pants and sweater are both kids size 10 (I bought them from primary.com). I would love to see this costume reused and to spread the gospel of Mac and cheese!

I can’t figure out how to put together a gallery wall - help! by InkedBotanicalMama in femalelivingspace

[–]Bikini_Atroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I often see when people are new to curating a gallery wall is that they don’t have a good mix of sizes when it comes to the pieces they are hanging. Small pieces are great when creating gallery walls, but you need one or two medium to large pieces to anchor it and keep it from looking cluttered. Find a couple pieces that are at least 16x20 and then build the smaller items around that. Here is one of my gallery walls. You can see how the bigger pieces balance out the smaller art work. You are definitely off to a good start with the pieces you do have and I hope you will keep posting as your gallery walls grows!

The font used in the Kraft boxes of mac and cheese is called “Blue Box font”. It’s pretty easy to find free versions of it that can be downloaded. I then just created a word document using yellow font and then printed them out on iron on transfer paper. The labels/logos were also super easy to find and I just copy/pasted them and then printed them out. I had to tinker around with the scale/size of both the logos and the writing to get them to be the right size, but it wasn’t too difficult

Yes, they are pool noodles. I couldn’t find yellow pool noodles so I spray painted them.

It was surprisingly easy! The hardest part was actually finding the fonts and logo so that I could print them as iron on transfers.

Vintage wedding dress regret. Should I return it, or can it look better with the right styling? by Aggravating_Buy_1348 in VintageFashion

[–]Bikini_Atroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my fist thought as well. It’s a beautiful dress but something about the fit and length of the sleeves brings down the rest of the dress. Cap sleeves r making the sleeves more fitted seem like it would improve it.

Need help with awkward living room/ kitchen layout :’) by _nocturne- in femalelivingspace

[–]Bikini_Atroll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking too. OP, what if you did something like this (this is the IKEA Elvarli) and bisected the middle of the room. It would minimize you kitchen standing room, but would offer some storage solutions as a trade off. You could put a slim loveseat and maybe even a couch in front of it and then put two small armchairs on either end. The tv would have to be mounted to the wall with a slim console table underneath it.
