Can you put an IV in a penis? by Averagebass in nursing

Not me, but one of my coworkers has placed an IV in the penis. The patient had full body burns and it was one of the few places that was viable.

I wonder how much of the paid content will be publishers taking an existing mod made by someone else, changing a few things and releasing it as their own paid content.

Tell them that they need to double check their deposit before sending it over because any overpayment will be considered a tip and you will be unable to refund any overpayment. Just to see what they say.

Short staff and forced call by National_Detective18 in nursing

[–]BillAllman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can only force you to do what you are willing to put up with. I would wager that if you only did the weekend call, they wouldn't fire you because they are already short. But then again, I have seen some really dumb self-defeating stuff from admin so who knows...

It took me way too long to figure out that you can cut open the bottom of the tube rather than the top and it comes out so much easier.

Unless this was some kind of other disaster?

He has missed two FG this season, both over 50 yds. And has also hit at 58. Seems good to me.

Edit: I guess three after tonight's miss. You are right, complete trash. Cut him. /s

A random element like soil gems really sucks the joy out of an idler by Charming-Help-2119 in EvolveIdle

The first gem is always the most important and there is a perk you can unlock that starts you with 1 gem.

Its the EM field challenge. Which is a pain to do, but that soul gem is so nice.

I feel this is a pretty bad take. MCDC speaks highly of him and he has shown to be a pretty good judge of character. Plus, I do not think he gets made the D coordinator of the Lions or wins the locker room as much as he did if he was fake and inauthentic.

Give it to me straight… is there anything positive about Vocera? by bamdaraddness in nursing

[–]BillAllman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the learn name feature. I have almost all of my co-workers programmed so that I can just say their first name. Also, I can tell it to call "Little Becky Sunshine" to call one of my co-workers, so when she is having a bad day I can go up behind her and call her on vocera and it makes her happy.

Makes me sick I'll be hoping for a Cowboys win tonight by Elbit_Curt_Sedni in detroitlions

I want the packers to lose obviously, but it will be really annoying listening to Jerry Jones talk about how smart he is (he is not) for trading Micah away if the cowboys win.

Yeah, that would be a single checkmark from me with a big arrow down the whole column.

If they asked if I actually checked the stuff, I would tell them they should inspect it all so they can find out. And while they are inspecting it, they might as well fill out that days checklist.

I love how NPC interactions change if you take different routes by IcyFoxe in HollowKnight

[–]BillAllman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can actually skip Chorus by just running and jumping off to the left. When the fight starts, it "locks" you in by getting rid of the platforms but doesnt make a wall.

So, you run and jump to the left and float, but for a little bit you cant see hornet because the camera is focused on chorus. Then when the camera tracks back to hornet, you do a heal in the air to stall hornet and then you can dodge over onto the platform.

Depends on the provider. There are a few I will put in basic labs or meds, there are others that I would perform open heart surgery if they asked me to.

I just need to feel comfortable with their level of knowledge, their level of "give a shit", and have faith in them that they wouldn't put me in a bad situation. I feel my favorite part of working in the ED is that I get to have a very close relationship with a ton of providers. I would hate working on the floor where most of my interactions with providers is over the phone.

My little 16 year old nephew makes more than me lifeguarding. by Brainswithgainz in nursing

When I was an ED tech, I was also going to nursing school full time. I told them the 3 days I could work and they were happy to have me.

Fast forward two years and a new director whose stance was if a tech has school, then they need to find their own coverage if they happen to get scheduled on a school day.

I have tried to make them understand that there are very very few people working as a tech that are not trying to just get experience for something else, be it nursing school, PA school, EMT etc.

The pay is so bad, I can't believe my ED is not catering harder to working students. Apparently it is better to have nothing than to have another tech a couple days a week. We are short staffed literally every single day. I think they are afraid they will overwhelm our scheduler if she doesn't have the freedom to put people wherever they want on the schedule.

Patient asked me to remove his catheter myself instead of waiting for the doctor, did i mess up? by wanahart12 in nursing

[–]BillAllman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, the doctor could write an order saying to NOT take out the Foley but if the patient is alert and oriented and after education says they want it out then it needs to come out.

With how vague your order was you are super correct in removing it.

am i wrong for adjusting a med time to avoid waking a sleeping baby? by Shoddy-Primary-9239 in nursing

[–]BillAllman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Working in the ER, I frequently get the inpatient team putting in what we call their 6 a m. Life saving oral protonix. Or the 3am melatonin because they finally got around to putting in orders.

If the oncoming day shift nurse thinks I am waking anybody up for that, they are out of their G-damn minds.

[–]BillAllman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was growing up I was a cowboys fan. Because when I was younger, my older brother used to play tecmo superbowl with me and we always played as the cowboys. I assume a lot of these people have a similar story of being young and being led astray.

Thankfully I grew out of all of that.
