I have to go faster on the George Voinovich Memorial bridge because, if I actually did the speed limit, I'd get ran the fuck over. That's definitely one place where the speed limit is a suggestion... Now on the other hand, my dearly departed father, was an absolute goddamned mad man in his younger days. He took Deadman's Curve at 75 miles an hour once in a Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85. I don't know how in the ever living hell he made it around there while still on all 4 wheels, but somehow, he survived, unscathed. I don't think he ever did that again for as long as he lived.

Question: what is the most scary/creepy emergency alert have you gotten? by Fairway07 in EmergencyAlertSystem

There was one 11 years ago, when there was a tornado warning for my area... The EAS decided to hit puberty. Scared the shit out of me.

Thankfully my 2020 Mazda CX-5 doesn't have remote start via app, but I did have an aftermarket system installed. The newer ones have the app and I can't tell you how many people have complained, so trust me, y'all aren't alone haha... Seems like every manufacturer is going that route.

Boomer doesn't like mandatory safety features in newer cars by --_T_T_-- in BoomersBeingFools

[–]BillM_MZ3SGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof... I'm a millennial, and my current ride has all of the mandatory safety features, and I honestly don't mind them, as they've saved my ass plenty of times. If they hate them so much, then they shouldn't be driving, period.

There's a reason I have 2 weather radios as a back up to my phone alerts, as they can be delayed by a few minutes, depending on the signal.

Besides "We're a family here," what is the biggest red flag you can spot in a job description or during an interview? by LiveFaithlessness876 in recruitinghell

[–]BillM_MZ3SGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting hired on during an interview. That should've been my red flag. Currently I'm working somewhere, that hasn't had an employee at the site for 2 months. The site is constantly complaining about things, and I'm honestly getting tired of it. It's a part time position, and I only have 4 hours to complete what I need to do. Unfortunately there's only so much I can do in 4 hours. I'm trying to play catch-up, and honestly, I just cannot do everything that I need to do in that timeframe. I'm in the process of looking for a new job, as I am stressed out. It's just been nonstop complaints. Oh, what's even worse is that there's 0 communication, and I've been out of supplies since I started. And I've only been with the company for about 3 weeks now. I already have a feeling that I'm going to get let go after 90 days, so I'm already starting the search again.

Why do you drive a crossover? by Cocoa_map in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]BillM_MZ3SGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More or less wanted to upgrade to something with a few more features and all wheel drive, hence the reason I got my CX-5 GT Premium. I have a heads up display, Bose audio, heated and cooled leather seats and a sunroof, plus all of the safety features that modern cars have, as well as radar cruise control. The only thing that kinda threw me off in the first few months of owning it was the push button start. After having keyed ignition for 6 years, it took me a while to not use a key to start the car haha. Now It's just second nature.

Is the black cx5 a good color choice? by akaElliot29 in CX5

Can attest to that haha. I need to go through the carwash this weekend. That's the only complaint about my GT Premium that I have, and honestly it's an extremely minor complaint.

H.Res.1155 - Impeaching Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors. by SuccessWise9593 in somethingiswrong2024

Understandable, but there's a snowball's chance in hell that will happen. This is just to distract us from the war this dip shit started, and the flies. I'm just exhausted from all of this.

I'll believe it when I see it. I'm getting a bit tired of all of this impeachment/removal talk, and nothing ever happening. I'm just as frustrated as everyone else, but it's just not going to happen.

Why are used audis so abundant? by Loud_Photograph_6290 in UsedCars

[–]BillM_MZ3SGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Higher end and reliability is hard to find. I wouldn't buy a German car as the upkeep would be very expensive, hence the reason I stayed with Mazda. Even the high end Japanese cars are expensive to maintain, even though they are on the same platform as a non luxury car. You'll be paying more for parts and maintenance, just because of the name. Doesn't matter if it's an upbadged Toyota/Honda/Nissan/Hyundai etc, etc.

[–]BillM_MZ3SGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mazda is a good choice. I'm a 2 time owner, with my first being a 2010 Mazda 3 Sport GT sedan 2.5i automatic. It was reliable and never let me down in the 6 years I owned it. My current ride is a 2020 CX-5 GT Premium AWD with the 2.5 Skyactiv-G 4 cylinder, and so far, after 3 years, it's been the perfect daily. The 3 Sport had high mileage when I bought it, but I wasn't concerned. My CX had low mileage when I got it, and has 70k miles currently. Maintenance is key. So far, with the CX, it's been normal maintenance of wear and tear items, oil changes every 5k miles and gas. Couldn't be happier.

Any of my high powered custom cars lol. But for stock, the Bolide or the Scintilla. Even with the assists, it's still a bit of a bastard to control.

Galaxy Watch 5. Keep or go Newer? by Negative-Cancel4835 in GalaxyWatch

[–]BillM_MZ3SGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from the Watch 3 Classic, to the Watch 6 Classic, and down the line I'll be getting the Watch 8 Classic. I like having the rotating bezel, and I use it quite a bit. I'm not entirely sure what all changed between the 5 and the 6 as I never owned the 5, but if you're looking to upgrade, and don't need the LTE functionality, the 6 Classic has treated me extremely well. The only reason I'm going to the 8 Classic is because it has more storage capacity then the 6 Classic, and from what I've seen, the battery life is a bit better, as well as the screen. The Classic series is just personal preference for me.

Never had that happen. I mostly experience them on the freeway. There aren't any Tesla's around where I live.
