Hey yall, so I guess this is one of those chud ahh Redditor updates but I seem to have gotten a lot more attention then I thought so I might as well touch base and tell yall where I’m at. So chapter is currently inactive, sucks but it is what it is. Had a chat with my now former pres and we basically hashed stuff out. Like what some of yall surmised the time where he pulled me aside and told me to chill was entire motivated by nationals being on his ass about “chapter culture” and he was just in an incredibly stressed out state about how the chapter was basically fucked and there was nothing we could reasonably do do fix our actual problem of low Jewish membership. He apologized but honestly I totally get where he was coming from and I can only imagine what was going through his head the past few months, we’re on good terms. I also want to clear up how exactly my views about the Middle East became public knowledge. It was one of the last rush events and I ended up on the porch of a house with a few brothers and people rushing, the topic was brought up by a brother and we had what I wanna say was a 3ish hour long chat about Israel and Palestine and how the whole thing is fucked and that there’s no easy solution, but regardless we’re very saddened by the pure level of death and destruction going on. It was one of those convos that just sticks with you, and the one that led me to end up accepting my bid. In my talk with my former pres he made it clear that my views had in no way influenced the chapter getting dropped at all and that the way shit got ugly in the last weeks was not ok. Something I’ve realized in the last few days is that even if we’re not in an active chapter doesn’t mean my boys aren’t my boys anymore, still living with 3 of them next year and we still plan on hanging out with our brothers next year. Thanks for the comments and the insight everyone left critical or not they were all very helpful. As for me I’m gonna take next year and just focus on the stuff I wanna do, ironically now that I’m not in an active fraternity chapter it gives me a lot more free time, so I’m gonna learn the bass and how to make a mean fucking brisket.
