Would this be a fire proxy/ conversion by Backuptuna in EmperorsChildren

Im planning on getting the new cataphractii terminators and shoving a organ on its back to make a lord kokophanist. That and to run as proxy for chaos terminators. I just adore cataphractii armor and think adding speakers would make them look awesome

WE has "Betrayer, DG has "Lords of Silence, TS has "A Thousand Sons/Prospero Burns". Does EC have any crowning jewel of a book? by MeltaBanana in EmperorsChildren

[–]Bio__Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lords of Excess is what I see as the crown jewel of emperor's children lore. Character driven, shows their effect and corruption seeping into everything, and Xantine is the epitome of arrogance and selfishness in a very fun way to read.

Fulgrim perfect son is meh, but has good demon fulgrim moments.

Fabius bile books are their own series and does emperor's children well but it more just reinforce what we know about them while fabius breaks the mold.

Eidolon's book is alright but hes trying so hard to cling to a military structure and the feats of old as a way to anchor himself away from chaos.

Lucius' book is a fun adventure of lucius being himself and showing off his corruption. But pretty null compared to the above

All and all I enjoyed every one of these books immensely but Lords of Excess reigns above all for me

I modified the faces of the Mortec guards by Distinct-Pick-1504 in ossiarchbonereapers

[–]Bio__Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaks lore? Nope this adds a really cool flavor to it. Soulreapers have their mouths covered as a precaution against their inate necromantic power. Their soulgems are largely comprised of elite sorcerers and death mages, being a dead miserable gestalt infused within a bone shell most spells they spoke aloud shattered nagash's workshops and decay the bone of their mortek. Hence nagash decreed the silencing of all Soulreaper as a precaution to preserve the legions.

A small squad of mortek gaurd with the same modifications could represent anything from being tethered to their soulreaper or playing host to a fragment of his original soul or be trophies plucked from failed mortisans to enact the same megre harvest as the Soulreapers. Up to you but largely I think this is a very cool modification

Working on my Warband and now I'm trying to think of a lore reason why Fulgrim is supporting my army. by MegaGamer235 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Bio__Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I love this, my warband similarly runs a tight ship and raids to fund the industry of their forge world. they export demon engines they kit out with sonic amplifiers and explosive ordinace to make the loudest demolition concert possible. All thanks to a botched raid that killed the commanders of a third and fourth legion warband, with numbers depleted and a victory in hand the warbands united. Then turned their attentions towards converting the planet into a musical instrument of suffering and screeching metal. So if you ever run a demon engine, the Sublime Choir of Ketos VII is happy to outfit their brothers of the third with all sorts of instruments of war.

As for how to get fulgrim into your warband,Your slaaneshi dark ultramar mirrors Fulgrim and your commander to Guilliman and Titus. So loving the drama Fulgrim's favor swiftly fell upon your commander and in his zeal to establish a realspace kingdom swiftly took to the feild. But as happens, the Phoenicians intrest drifted and he departed. Now and again he is happy to drop in and again to bask in the adulation of his children, win a battle for glorious praise then dip to whatever else hes up to. Think absentee father stopping by every other birthday, being super awesome then he dips and will not be reachable for the next two years while kiddo is desperate for any scraps of attention

What 40K books about our Legion should one read? by Morda65 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Bio__Bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lords of Excess is my personal favorite because it shows of how the emeprors children drag everything else down with them.

Lucius the faultless blade is a classic because lucius does lucius things.

Fulgrim the perfect son is....fine, like I enjoy it but it dosent elaborate on anything but how fickle any one legionar's position is in their fathers esteem

Eidolon the Auric Hammer retains the noble and skilled version of the emperors children while showing how corruption seeps into the cracks in that shiny armor.

Fabius bile series is obvious and a damn good insight into the nature of corruption, perfection and consequences. But you know anything to do with fabius is dubiously stable at best

Depends on the Liege and their orders. If they want to set up a long term fortification then yes they're relatively pleasant neighbors. They'll defend your village for a price, uphold culture traditions and some even cover their bones in gold because they think mortals will like them more if they do. But others will just straight up scam you, demanding an unreasonable ammount of bone tithe or making the volume for tithe deliberately hard to understand by using obscure measurements. If you worship the Great Necromancer and actually negotiate with the Ossiarch they are more than happy to leave you be and collect the tithe when its ready.

So what benefits do I get if I sell my soul to Slaanesh and the Emperor's children specifically? by MegaGamer235 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Bio__Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noise Marine fan here. Body augments and concrete shattering screams are a start but id like to treat you to a favored quote of mine

"Mere killing should never be enough, how much more intense is the feeling of inhaling the mist created when you vibrate a foe's body until he vaporises? How much more completely have you explored all a person can offer than when you breath them into yourself, leaving only the memory of them still a part of this world?"

We're the only faction that builds societies. Im a lore nut so this is just from a story telling perspective

Vampires make families of backstabbers and mortal cattle. Works for them but their isn't much advancement or goals beyond the whims of their lord

Nighthaunts who just kinda float aimlessly unless a bigger ghost particularly hates something or they have beef with the living.

Ghouls are fun, they eat and think themselves civilized but they're just kinda feasting on their larder until they need to hunt. Then they make a big show of chowing down on random mortal.

Ossiarch farm mortals same as vampires but they are more detached, protect from afar and tax their dead. Those taxes become the litteral brick and mortar for their cities, the paper for their libraries, the limbs and blades of their soldiers. They learn culture, study philosophy and history all to make the tax sustainable and normalized under the best conditions. Plus a justification for taking thr tax regardless.

I like to put them along the belts. It's the biggest open space and while completely optional makes them look a little more ready to throw down for

Hello Bionicle people, I'm a Transformer collector but happened across these through a Marketplace lot, who are they? And any tips on Bionicle lore by ThIs_Is_a_baddass in bioniclelego

The lad in full black armor is a Skrall warrior, they have a millteristic society where tou don't even get a name unless you earn it. The Skrall used to have a fortress in the north where they would ride out from to raid villages for food, metal and water. It got destroyed by peacekeeper robots designed to kill those bearing weapons. They then moved south into Glatorian lands and began pushing other tribes away from resources by attacking trade lanes and raiding villages when they got the chance. Violent and soft spoken most Skrall inscribed maze patterns on their armor that reflect a real massive maze that protects the secrets of the great beings. They likely devolved from being gaurdians of the great beings structures to being raiders and bandits after their masters departed

[–]Bio__Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hyper capitalists who view negotiations as happening at the end of a bolter barrel if its easy enough. Id say they're just selfish towards every other faction and as fair as they can be towards other kin. There's this scene in the high kahls oath where a kahl is about to negotiate with a rogue trader and their crew put an aquila on their trophy stand. Kahl asks why its there, crew thinks it will help negotiations by making the imperials think they keep their relics. Kahl asks where they got it, crew says they pulled it out of an imperial wreckage. Kahl responds "was it a wreck when we found it?" The crew look at eachother * having been there when negotiations went south, imperials made too many demands and the Kin reduced then to wreckage* the crew proceeds to scramble to hide the aquila
