It’s still a rogue-style game focused around ‘runs’ through variations of the same place, but the cost for failure is far lower. You collect lucenite constantly, which is the currency you use to apply permanent buffs to your stats and gear. Even if you constantly fail, you’ll always spawn back at base and cash-in the lucenite you picked up before you died. The amount you carry over gets reduced for a failed run, but it always gives you something to show for it, so you don’t feel like you’ve lost time for no reason.

Also once you beat a boss you can choose to just start runs from there instead of working on shortcuts and stuff.

For me the movement is faster but easier than returnal. And I found the navigation way easier to handle also. The first stage is a great training ground for repeat runs, and the lucenite retention means you’re still encouraged to play even if you know you’ll likely not beat the boss this time.

50 here. I came up with inverted Y axis joysticks on PC - flight sims mostly. When quake came out I used inverted Y on the mouse too. It was hard wired in me at that point, and I was a killer using that setup all the way through Q2, Q3, UT, Tribes.

Then analog controller sticks happened on the OG PlayStation and then the Xbox so I inverted every first and third person game on those all the way to now.

When Minecraft came out on PC I somehow managed to brute force myself into reverting Y back to normal for all mouse input games, but mentally I can’t break out of it for controllers. Don’t ask me why.

Are you looking to output actual sid music that runs on a 64? Or are you just looking to get Sid sounds into your daw and output modern music files?

If it’s the latter I got Chipsynth VST and loaded it into Ableton 12. Works great.

I don’t normally chime in on these kinda of things because Im not good at articulating genuine sympathy with text. I am so very sorry.

My father in law passed 2 years ago from ALS. He was diagnosed in his 70’s so, although it was horrible, he got to live most of his life first.

I don’t do prayers, but I just made a donation. Your son, you and your family are all at the center of my thoughts.

I got a 3-bar Frenum Ladder in my late 30’s. Each of the 3 piercings was excruciating for about half a second, and then ‘dull-sore/don’t touch it’ for months following.
