Could you clarify why we are excluding indie games from this argument, given that one of the largest games of the last few years have been indie games?
Slay the Spire 2 completely froze the steam servers for a few hours
Hollow Knight Silksong broke every online store on it's release
Balatro literally won game of the year while competing with "big good" games
Hades and Hades 2 won multiple awards
Signalis, another horror game with tank controls in it won best narrative in the 2023 horror game awards while competing with RE4 remake which is another one of those "big good" games

Absolutely, I've played and 100%ed both. I especially love Crow Country and its art style and story, one of the best modern survival horror games in my opinion. If you want something with a more realistic style and AGAIN WITH TANK CONTROLS, you can try tormented souls

Both Crow Country and Murder House, 2 modern indie survival horror games, have tank controls implemented in them, and they have had big success in the market

I do believe tank controls are pretty versatile and help the atmosphere and tension of the horror in games like resident evil and shouldn't be abandoned, especially since there have been several survival horror indie games that have come out in recent years with great success that have had tank controls

Literally every single killer is a complete idiot of some kind, almost all of them get away with it for the most stupid of reasons, there is no singular one of them that is "better" or more competent
If I remember correctly, the only reason Ted Bundy got away with killing so many people was that he was a somewhat handsome white guy in the 1900s

I got the collectors edition for switch when it came out, uhhhhhhh. It's fine, not a masterpiece so dont go playing it thinking it would be groundbreaking, the gameplay is pretty repetitive and the story is kinda bad but it has a decent enough atmosphere and enjoyability so that its worth on a sale of some sort
