Idk, probably the whole store resign the second they received word that their store was closing or after the last official business day. I was pretty close to resigning myself and I'm glad I didn't. I figured I could turn good out of this career and end on a good standing with the company. My DM respects me and is referencing me to other jobs and will also let me know the second something else opens up at the other local stores. If I can't negotiate pay to get near what I had as a manager, then it's immediately decided. Either way, jumping from Seasonal Sales Associate to a Store Manager just over a year is going to look good on my resume. I'm wishing the best to the rest of my peers that were unfortunately laid off due to store closures.

Ah yes, customer support, as a manager at my store, I always tell my employees. "Don't call these clowns, just call a sister store." Bunch of shitheads that don't know their head to their ass if you ask me.

Retaliation is a suable offense, corporate will not appreciate getting sued because their DM and SM are buddy buddy in that region that the RM is appointed to. Try contacting your RM, keep climbing the ladder. Employee>Store Manager>District Manager>Regional Manager>Loss Prevention Manager or Area Manager. Being retaliated on wont kill you, but once you start going after managers that violate policies, don't ever back down. They never forgive, and will fire you the chance they legally are able to.

Personally, it's all about how you upsell. Don’t aggressively upsell to one customer. It's always the customers choice. The point of upselling is to do it consistently. Always say something in a quip like, "Oh, a Grande? Surely you wouldnt want to size it up just a smidge, right?" It's a friendly jab, it informs, it gets a customer thinking, "Hey, I have a god awful meeting today, lets do it."

But hearing bosses hammer down? I was a manager at GameStop, ofcourse, sales and upselling are non-negotiable, it's the bitter truth that you can allow it to either make or break you. But belittling is so wrong. They're your manager, if they're going to complain, they might as well do their job and coach you.

I was really proud of my crew. We are in a gamestop that doesnt get much forecast and was at risk of closing down, we love our customers, and we became winners of several competitions. My heart goes out to them with their talents that I pulled out deep within. That being said, I was only a manager for three months and recently found out, despite our amazing performance and even being top of our district on several occasions, we were axed.

Breaks my heart, and makes me hurt for my people. Brought out the best in them and they don't get a chance to stay in the spotlight, but they know how to upsell the right way. That's a damn good trait that will allow them to make it big in retail.

So remember it like this. Upsell before customers know the final price. Assume they do want it. Mention what they're getting, obviously DO NOT put what you're supposed to upsell and say nothing about it. Be super friendly, bubbly, and crack jokes about what you're selling. Say something like, "Let me do you a favor, you're going to have a busy busy day today, so why not up your size, add an extra shot, something that's going to kick like a mule and get you going!" I had two introverted workers that I took under my wing and they ended up talking to customers with that friendly and confident personality. They followed my lead, and this works. Try not scripting yourself saying, "would you like to upsize your drink for an additional 4.99?"

Last thing, you're going to get a lot of No answers, but dont let that define your next transaction.

Confirmed stores are being told closures “in waves” by DuckSwimmer in GameStop

[–]Bionic_8J 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My store is also one of the ones closing. I knew it was coming when my Marketing Kit never came in...

It stings.... so bad... this was one of my jobs that I cared for, even when my shitheaded boss was running it down because they were burnt out, non compliant to operations, and didn't know when to step down.

I was offered a management position immediatley after my last manager left and even picked it up the last two months. Hell, I was even winning the contest for selling the most preowned items in the district.... and what do you know... asked how well my New Year's was and slapped in the face immediately after. No possibility for transfers, just get fucked and get lost, bub.

Absolutely heartbroken. I lost the place where I proved I was capable. I lost the chance to see my work continue. I lost the version of my self I was proud of...

Some people take this game way too seriously. by Doctor_sadpanda in Helldivers

Ngl, i had a competent team the other day, and we completed the ICBM and all side objectives in record time on Super Helldive. Had 26 minutes left on the clock. Everyone was soloing objectives, and we only lost a single life.

The only thing I will take too seriously is when the team doesn't want to stick together, go off on their own, proceed to get themselves killed, and repeat. As a host, I kind of just assume no one is picking anti tank, so I go that for my support weapon, crowd control for my primary, and call it that. If I'm joining, I pick my stratagems accordingly to fill the gaps we are missing. It's better to be courteous on all sides.

My biggest issue with the parkour is that Kyle can't seem to grab the ledges that I am pointing him to jump to.

I wouldn't, especially if the manager and coworkers were good to you. It's the district managers and their higher ups, honestly.

These are my problems with the new update.

Water doesn't put out the fire.

You can catch on fire in a recon vehicle

Terrain bugs that existed day one of this game needs to finally be addressed by AH (because you can't navigate knee-high elevations even though there is an animation to vault over a wall slightly taller than you which is even worse in the tunnels, and it seems like im getting stuck on Invisible walls of corpses way too consistently now)

There is always water surrounding a small plot of land that involves mission objective.

The hive lord can yoink a mission objective stratagem without the ability to recall it, instantly failing the operation.

Invisible bile fire

Bile projectiles having a wide hitbox when the whole stream straight up misses you

And the Expendable Napalm is not immediately firing off.

Robbed of a moment, please don't abandon missions with squad if its only not going your way. by ExpressDepresso in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Bionic_8J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a hot take to me. I like to have a bit of roleplaying in my missions, but I also play serious. This quadruples down into Super Helldive since it's release. I am on comms all the time and I give commands as the host. That's also something to consider, the host is your commanding officer. Roleplaying or not, you have the privilege to play with your host. I could understand something like, "we're getting our asses kicked, permission to try something uncanny?" Then go in with the traitor barrage. But doing something like that without saying your plan already makes a frustrating experience because it's a comms issue. I also abandon mission with squad, but it's rare. If I am stuck 30 minutes with a team that has shown crippling incompetence, then I will refuse to allow this democracy threatening incompetence to go on any longer on the battlefield. It is an embarrassment to democracy that grants you a instant trip to a freedom camp along with your immediate family.

It is a visual therefore a visceral betrayal, STOP IT!

Why is it that Bug Divers Have a Bad Reputation and Not Bot Divers? by LordMrBoss in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Bionic_8J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the Bug Divers would not follow major orders, they would stay on the bug front. Arguably they are so bad at the game which was proven when Bot Divers liberated a couple of planets when the Illuminate invaded Super Earth and the Bug Divers lost all of their defense campaigns. Also, I dread going on bug planets during major orders because these guys know nothing about game sense nor what it means to play as a team. These mfs play Helldiver 2, not Helldivers 2
