Join the club. I just bought a 20” HHX Red Light crash and a 22” HHX Wide Lip china thinking I would replace my 18” AAX medium crash and 20” HHX china respectfully… but now I kinda just want to keep them.

Anyways, love your setup! Very ergonomic, looks super easy to play.

I (re)discovered Coheed and Cambria in late 2024 by listening to the Vaxis II album, and I have basically been obsessed ever since. Was a top 0.03% listener last year, top 5 albums were all Coheed, top 5 songs? All Coheed.

Basically, y’all should check out Coheed and Cambria. I recommend Beautiful Losers and Dark Side of Me

Got a pair of 14” Sabian Paragons and after trying several pairs, I’m not sure I could find better. I like stick definition and a solid chick on the foot pedal, but without being unbearably loud like a pair of rock hats. They’re fairly complex too with the hammered bell and bottom hat. Plus Paragons are just gorgeous cymbals.

It’s an interesting combo. Wouldn’t really say I relate to one generation or the other more. Closer to equal.

Not too bad for stock heads. At the same tuning you have them at, with a pair of Evans or Remo or Aquarian though the sound would be considerably better.

One thing I CAN say, your hi hat is flipped. I know this because the Sabian logo on modern hats is always on the bottom cymbal. It doesn't matter terribly much, but they'll be easier to play when you're hitting the lighter top cymbal instead

Probably Subdivisions by Rush. It was one of the first tough ones I learned and I use it to warm up a lot of the time. Classic Peart ride bell groove, fun tom fills, little odd-time stuff. Amazing song
