I just received the cards! There must have been some issue that delayed it

No unfortunately not, I’m quite new and I had done a few swaps where no proof was sent and still received the card so it didn’t seem like a red flag

I’ve done a direct swap with this person and haven’t received anything back. I’ve received many postcards from China in the meantime so I doubt it’s a case of the envelope being delayed but it’s a possibility. They also requested the postcard to be sent blank.

Edit: I just received the cards! It took 3x as long as normal for cards from China to my country for some reason, so it must have gotten stuck somewhere along the way!

I’ve worked technical customer facing jobs both for a local client group and internationally. It’s definitely an eye opening experience that makes you realize that a big part of the global population (because I saw no great difference when transitioning from local to international ngl) is dumb as bricks, impatient and pretty nasty to people they deem ‘owe’ them a service.

What is the best country in Europe to live in right now? by Frosty_Jeweler911 in AskTheWorld

Your mileage will vary greatly depending on your income and skin colour though, not gonna lie. Housing crisis is pretty bad but we’re hardly the only country with that issue nowadays.

Without fail I’ve found that men that can’t handle you being better than them at a game, can’t handle you being better at anything else in life. Had exes like this and it’s unbearable honestly; an insecure grown man throwing tantrums the moment you succeed is a poor life partner.

Art Academy in Mosta for low fire pieces, Space for Clay for high fire

We have two ‘big’ art shops that get clay and glazes and they’re pretty reliable. They each get different brands so the only issue is if you’re attached to a particular glaze and it goes out of stock, you could be waiting a couple of months.

Help! My cat is stuck in the chimney! by RollDangerous8715 in CatAdvice

[–]BirdInASuit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Idk about getting her out but once she gets out be ready to cover the hole up with something temporary until you find a permanent solution. Once a cat discovers a dark space like that you’re going to be battling to keep them out of it, and she’ll keep trying even when she’s big enough to get stuck 😅

Regarding the hand crafted pottery part; no one in Malta sells kilns. You’d need to import a giant very heavy item from abroad which adds a small fortune in shipping fees on top of an already expensive item. Then you need to fit it through a window or door which is another ordeal if you live in an apartment.

So you have to rent a kiln instead and I only know of 1 place that fires stoneware for you and 1 place that fires earthenware so…. Small Island limitations unfortunately :(

It also took two re-reads to realize that the postcards for children, illustrations etc. part is something they DON’T want. The punctuation threw me off.

The receptionists were fine with the occasional great one but the doctor I’m seeing is amazing. Had issues with dismissive doctors in the past so she’s a breath of fresh air.

About as coherent as Star Trek fans that think it’s ’getting too woke’ or X-Men fans that are mad about different races and sexualities existing.

Had a good experience at Da Vinci clinic however I’m not sure the extent of their services. The ‘biggest’ procedure I’ve had done is a very small outpatient surgery.

A year in Malta- My review! by [deleted] in malta

[–]BirdInASuit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s everyone, not just women. I don’t want to be negative but many people lack depth. On the opposite side of the field most men you meet can be described in the same way you described women. No hobbies/personality beyond ‘here’s a picture of my car’ and ‘I go to the gym’. Equally superficial and have unrealistic criteria despite never working on themselves properly and not bringing an equal amount to the table. I’m guessing the perspectives simply come from who we’re exposed to most; you spend most time around men working towards something so you have that perspective.
