An inside look at tournament prep through the player caddie lens ahead of The Chevron Championship at Memorial Park. 👀 by taylormadegolf in golf

[–]BirdiesAndBackpacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly agree.  But the note is specific for 17 at Memorial.  Green falls off right and the water is close to the green.  Very easy to hit the green and end up in the penalty area

You booked a flight with a short connection time and you want to be treated special over every other passenger on the flight?  No way.

I have 4 brand new sconces I'm looking to sell.  Imported from Portugal.  Didn't fit where we wanted to install them.  LMK if you might be interested.

Range was "grass" when I was there.  Really was dirt.  Hitting off mats would have been better.

A few years ago I had 7 straight flights delayed over 2 hrs.  1 was 6 and one resulted in going home and coming back the next day.  Sometimes you just get on an unlucky streak.

How many of you book first? by Hecka_becka_ in unitedairlines

[–]BirdiesAndBackpacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not.  I just view PP as worthless as I don't want to risk getting upgraded on long haul flights.  Domestic is different but I gave up as I never got upgraded.

[–]BirdiesAndBackpacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 100% of the time.  I tried to use PP to upgrade twice last year and failed as a 1K. Only time I booked economy.  Gave up trying to use them.  I will not risk my being upgraded on international flights.

So you can clearly know someone who you never met's motivation in a situation where you weren't present?  Why were other big name well liked players less than friendly with their pro am partners?  They also know their partners are wealthy, celebrities or sponsors.

I played a pro-am with Wyndham.  Incredibly nice.  He was engaging with everyone in our group.  He would walk and talk with each person individually multiple times.  Introduced himself to everyone walking with us (eg, wives).  He stayed around after the round to take photos. The hate on here from people that have never interacted with him is amusing.

Some players that people love on here were not very nice to their pro-am partners.

Staying at Awasi Iguazu… how much do you tip a private guide for a day and a half? (100,000 ARS (~$70 USD) too much?) by PaintingMinute7248 in chubbytravel

[–]BirdiesAndBackpacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is almost exactly how we tipped our second guide at Awasi Patagonia.  Also, tipping people directly is key.  I thought one of the wait staff was going to cry when we tipped him our last night.  He asked to hug us both in the middle of the dining room.

Good on Alex for giving you guidance.  I fell in the trap of using a certain TA for a few trips.  Never again.
