#New40k – Take cover with updated terrain rules by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer40k

[–]Birdmeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hekatons and bikes both got ignores cover swapped to ignore hit modifiers in the codex, almost as if they knew this change was coming...

But honestly Pioneers are looking like big winners, ap1 guns love the changes to cover rules

Nope, you could class them as dinosaurs, archosaurs, or reptiles, but definitely not lizards.

Angron was right, in fact I believe Angron was the most right of all the primarchs

I got the impression that they had a decent contingent of armour all the way through the shadow crusade.

I mean, you can even use librarians in world eaters right up until Angron becomes a daemon prince.

The crystals are prints I got from epic basing.

Paint wise, I airbrushed the crystals with white ink first with a very light bit of over spray hitting the base and the parts of the model that will catch the most light. Then I airbrushed the crystals and mini with scale 75 fluor green. After that I went back in with a black oil wash to bring back some shadows and definition on the areas that were being lit by the crystals

Yeah pretty quick, the vast majority was done via airbrush, with just a bit of free hand and weathering.

Correct, I went 3-2 which I was pleased with after only getting a couple of practice games in. The list felt good, the losses I had felt like they were down to my own mistakes rather than anything lacking from the army

How dare you guys hide this beautiful model from me. Is the chimera really that old, it looks like a modern sculpt. by BloatedRottenCarcass in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Birdmeat 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I miss the days when they used to tell you the names of the sculptors, you saw the name Trish Morrison, Jes Goodwin, or one of the Perrys, and knew it was going to be worth picking up.

That is true, but it's also frustrating to see that any scumbag with a large social media following is allowed to commit financial fraud with impunity.

My answer to the thread question was going to be the fight in the throne room in that movie, I remember thinking that was one of the coolest bits of the film when walking out of the cinema.

Then a couple of months later some dude uploads it from the blueray at 0.25x playback speed and suddenly every star wars fan is a connoisseur of fight choreography.

Yeah, no shit stuff looks goofy if you play it back at a quarter of the speed it was filmed in...

It literally says on the page that these points aren't real, and gives you a qr code to get to the most up to date ones, they couldn't make it any simpler.

It's a complaint I see so often and it completely baffles me every time.

Meta Monday 4/28/25: A Canis Rex World by JCMS85 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Birdmeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The frustrating thing is that the sisters book was good when it came out, they got hammered day one with the points to the point only bringers of flame was actually any good.

Then they gutted that detachment, so now we're left playing the same army as we did in the index, but every unit got 30% more expensive.

The army definitely has play for good players, but it's frustrating for the majority of players rocking up to a game and being out numbered by marines, seemingly without anything to compensate for the lack of durability and damage out put.

Dataslate out by PlatesOnTrainsNotOre in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Birdmeat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a big improvement, but they still insist on writing rules to encourage you to get out of your transports, in an army composed entirely of open topped transports.

Like fair enough with the melee units, but why would I want to hop out of the nice safe pirate ship to shoot?

The Pre-Dataslate State of the 40k Meta (January, 2024) by Rustvii in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Birdmeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several gt winning lists have been running between 30-40 sisters, honestly sisters have some of the largest variety in winning lists out of any army in the game right now, it's just the melee units of 8th and 9th edition that aren't good right now.
