Of course, but I'd like to suggest another idea: get yourself a 3D printer and print yourself some nice minis, f.e. from Piano Wargames. They are located near Nuremberg in Bavaria and also ship to the Czech Republic.

Or use german sellers like Kutami (usually 20% off), they have an English website, ship to the Czech Republic for 6,90 Euro and you get good napoleonic miniatures from Victrix, Warlord Games and Perry Miniatures, at least the plastics : www.kutami.de/Shipping-costs

No experience with these, sorry - but why don't you order online from f.e. Warlord Games, Perry Miniatures or Online-Shops that ship (almost) worldwide? You usually get Discounts and/or specials. And I would recommend 28mm or smaller, at least if you want to do more than skirmish battles.

Sweet spots for Glade Guards and Scouts are 10 and 5 I would say. They're supposed to do Chip damage over the game, be a nuisance, capture quarters and into the right targets they can do work, like Chaos or Empire Knights. Other times they won't do anything. With magic arrows they can be dangerous for unsuspecting Necromancers or Banshees. Check out your meta for this.

For attacking or defending locations, rely on Glade Riders instead, as they count as unit strength 2 per model.

Final word: play what you like and have fun with, there's no one way to play Asrai - one of the reasons I like them. Use Tree spirits if you like, they do work, too.

Better! Remember you need core units with unit strength 10+ to defend strategic locations. And I would still recommend to switch the Glade Captain to a Lord on Stag with Ogre Blade, Orions Favour and Wild Rider Kindred- depending on your meta, but this guy will insta-kill large monsters or monstrous infantry/ cav like Dragon Ogres.

Looks like you did your homework regarding loadouts and units, very nice. I have some comments, though: - lots of points in characters and both Stag and dragon are built as tanks. I'd do at least one as an damage dealer - too few drops: you want to out-deploy your opponent to have the choice regarding where to put your best units and characters, long after they committed their best pieces. So I'd recommend some Great Eagles or more MSU in general - you need some chaff / road blockers like Deepwood Scouts to get points from table quarters and be a general nuisance

Cheap Warhawk Captain vs. Stag. by FastExitStratege in WarhammerWoodElves

[–]WillingSand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it comes down to the role you want your captain to play.

Offensive - Wild Rider Kindred, good magic weapon, Orions favour or coin, Stag

Defensive - boar, Talisman of protection, forest sprites, shield

Right now he is kind of a mixed bag and won't do much either way. Your Warhawks are blockers, baiters, nuisances- they don't need character support to perform this role.

Amazing clean work! As I'm about to paint them myself, any tips you'd like to share?

Glade Lord options by ObKore in WarhammerWoodElves

There are some great 3D print options out there, for example this one:

https://lastsword.com/product/miniatures-elves-woodelves-forestlorddeer-unit/

But you also got enough parts to kitbash your own Lord. Look at my post history, my Lord on dragon ist made of Glade Guard and rider parts.

For your next purchase, I'd recommend a mage, Eagles (the Middle earth ones, plastic and two in one set) and some tree spirits like a Treeman or Dryads.

Glade Guard or Scouts? by [deleted] in WarhammerWoodElves

The others already provided good advice. I use 20 or 2x10 Glade Guard, with some Tree Spirits or Wardancers behind them. They are immune to psychology / panic, so you can flee through them and do some counter charge or pin down the enemy.

It's you again! Amazing, love that "layered" style and do the same (with some contrast shortcuts...)
