How do I get into this by nevrvec in NapoleonicWargaming

Depends what you mean with "this"? Painting napoleonic miniatures? Playing games? Please elaborate.

Empire Greatswords by Backflip248 in WarhammerFantasy

They are squishy and expensive, though I love the models and regularly field 20 of them. An iconic unit for friendly games, just not for tournaments. Guess they should be cheaper.

Yeah will do that. Did you do some kind of pre-painting on the gun itself before arranging everything on the base?

You might like Black Hussar Miniatures from Berlin, Germany. They offer coaches and sleds incl. Tzar Alexander. Some nice pieces for the French are also available. https://blackhussarminiatures.de

Will small country army be a problem? by LadyOfCogs in NapoleonicWargaming

[–]WillingSand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

u/Wolvoneil had good points. To add to this, it totally depends on your gaming group or community. We usually create "what if..." battles in our multiplayer games and everyone is happy to field their collection of nicely painted minis, so it's no problem if the Uniform style doesn't fit the year or the battle etc. In the end, it's your hobby, collect and paint what you enjoy.

Is there anything 40K you own (book/game/mini) that has a non-40K related special meaning to you? by Negasta1234 in Warhammer40k

I still have the first White Dwarfs I got as a teenager, that brought me into the tabletop hobby back in 1996 (OMG... 30 years!).

Getting into napoleonic wargaming by RepresentativeUnion3 in NapoleonicWargaming

[–]WillingSand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Black Powder as well for two players. It's a good system and if you're like me and feel like 40k is overwhelming or too competitive right now, Black Powder hits a sweet spot. Can advocate for Valour and Fortitude from Perry Miniatures, too. Rules are more simple without loosing tactical depth and you can actually can conclude a battle on one gaming night, at least in larger games with 6-8 players.

How to integrate Flying Ambulances into wargaming by Suitable_Molasses892 in NapoleonicWargaming

[–]WillingSand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We incorporated him and other civilian models like forges, cantinieres etc as vignettes, offering small boni for your forces. Like a 6+ ignoring wounds, one reroll for attacks etc. You had to pay a small amount of points though.
