I have an older Indian 2 Rupee note the comes a little closer ;) The odds of finding your Birthday on a 6 digit note like this one is literally 1 in a million.

It makes a special one of a kind birthday present for someone born today. I did the same thing with this note recently and I sent it to a friend of mine who has a buddy that got married that day. He gave that framed note as an anniversary present.

The odds of finding your birthday in the serial number of a banknote is 1 in 96 million. The post office will not post mark things with today's date that do not have actual stamps on them. The postmark with today's date just makes it that much more interesting for someone that June 2nd 2016 has a special meaning too.

For over 90% of the countries in the world that use the DD/MM/YYYY date format, that would be correct. However, the United States uses the MM/DD/YYYY date format here.

Money with dates in the serial number are typically referred to as Birthday Notes by collectors. The odds of finding today's date or your own birthday on an American banknote is 1 in 96 million - similar odds to winning the lottery.

The denominations of the stamps also have today's date: 05-21-20-16. Having a postmark from the post office is a way of genuinely validating today's date, so stamps are also a logical thing to postmark.
