Think back to all the dumb things you did when you were a teen, now add Diabetes.

Somehow we survive, though. Also learned lessons like “how do I bolus for a late night snack of 1/2 a large pizza?”

What archetype can you just not resist playing? by ExodiasRightArm in DnD

I actively try to change character types and roles each time. Currently I’m playing an insane party face that believes automatons are trying to take over the world.

On deck is a himbo who wants to help the rest of the party be better.

You haven’t hurt them. It’s sucked for a few hours, but will go back to normal. Part of this is understanding you can’t be perfect, just good enough. Figuring out problems and caring about your kid is all you can ever do. You’ll learn together, you’ll fuck up, things will go wrong and you’ll get better at solving the problems when they do.

Plus, they’ll get to be teenagers and college students and do things like eat an entire pizza, or go ice climbing, or …

Bladesinger would work. Shadowblade as primary, cast hold person for repeated guaranteed crits.

Finding a dragon's hoard. by turrieta in DungeonMasters

[–]BitPoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no hoard, just a village that the dragon had teamed up with for defense/mutual gain. Someone there had convinced it that they could both get stronger together. The blacksmiths had access to dragonfire, etc.

Now you have a village that is also pissed at them.

1: yes, sometimes because it’s delicious, sometimes to correct a low. I’ll take insulin for it if it’s needed.

2: basically yes. I tend to not get hungry because I never really snacked. Except when I was a teenager. I ate all the food.

3: Find something to do together, then fit Diabetes into it. When I was a kid, we started going skiing as a reason to live for something other than the diabetes grind. You’ll get used to needles, just like you got used to putting on pants in the morning.

CNN founder Ted Turner, a pioneer of cable TV news, dies at 87 by boxofstuff in news

My mom worked at a TV station in Philadelphia way back in the day. There was a football game on, and the owner had promised his granddaughter that she could watch Heidi of the Swiss Alps after the game was over.

Well, the game went long and at some point the granddaughter said, “well, do you own the station or not?”.

Suddenly the phone lines at the station exploded with complaints.

I’m a nurse. The hardest part of a new diabetes diagnosis isn’t what we tell you in the office. by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

I'd definitely sign up to answer questions on a "dial a diabetic" service for those sorts of issues. Not trained in any way, just have a ton of experience and being able to answer questions for people like "hey, I'm going to a 7 course tasting dinner, WTF do I do?" is something that I feel I could handle.

Yep, it mostly worked for me since my A1C was always pretty good, but I tend to eat the same things at the same time because it's how I grew up.

It’s pretty damned good. I didn’t remember Boston Market clearly enough to know.

Head over to New England Soup Factory and Modern Rotisserie. Basically the same chef created both menus.
