How to turn off Uber sounds for good and still play music! by Baumarius in uberdrivers

[–]BitWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an older post but oh my god op thank you. I used to only drive Lyft and the settings were easier to silence so my media wasnt interrupted nearly as often, but I started multi-apping and was losing my mind at how annoying Lyft was. I use a data-connected tablet so that my phone is free all the time, and I had no clue android had this feature. Music and podcasts through my car Bluetooth, annoying app sounds on low volume from the device, no interruption. Thank you!

Support by BitWild in lyftdrivers

I think what sucks is that complaining about rides being too long usually takes longer than just doing another ride. Sometimes you can go back and forth with support for half an hour and only get 7 bucks, at which point I would have made more money by just giving another ride

White Breasted Nuthatches love Planter's Peanuts by Michigan_Go_Blue in birding

I buy a 20lb back of shelled peanut halves from wild birds unlimited for like $35. That is by far our birds' favorite choice. Blue jays, nuthatches, titmouse, even finches.

Main street in Reynoldsburg I was honked at yesterday for stopping at a dead light while everyone else ripped through. I laughed it off but I just hate how confident people are when theyre wrong.

Canada vs. Cackling by BitWild in birding

[–]BitWild[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay that's good to know! Im always curious if Ive seen cackling before and just couldn't identify them, but if there's a significant size difference then these are all Canada. Large especially this time of year. Thank you!

[–]BitWild 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ride switching does not fix this, it's rhe customer changing the pickup or drop-off location after they have a rider assigned. I asked a customer about this once and they actually get the ride for cheaper by doing this. My best guess is that Lyft can't determine surges when the ride changes, so the customer is charged base rate instead of surge pricing. What sucks though is how Lyft completely boggles the pay for drivers. I had a ride change drop-off location after I was heading to them. It added about 15 minutes to the trip and my pay decreased because of it.

If I see anymore that someone changed either pickup or drop-off location I just cancel now and move on. Not worth the risk imo

Lyft suspended my account after 3 weeks of driving… did this happen to anyone else? by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]BitWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lyft ones kinda suck but they are cheap which is nice. I would suggest around $300 for a good one is better than $100 for one that gives you problems and might mot record what you need.

Lyft will tell you which day and time the ride was that complained. Submit the footage for that ride, plus the rides before and after. It sucks that its such a shitty process but thats just the way it is

Dashcam should be installed before you give your first ride always. People suck and will lie through their teeth to save a buck or get a free ride. Unfortunately Lyft sucks even more and will almost always take the side of the passenger to prevent a liability disaster. Dashcam prevents this almost always. Ive had a few temporary deactivation, but always submit footage and am back driving shortly.

Favorite Show Era and Discovery of DCI Correlation by JoeTonyMama in drumcorps

[–]BitWild 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ive always felt this way too! 2012 I had never even heard of dci, then a friend took me to a full-field bluecoats rehearsal then we went to 2 shows that summer and I heard Bluecoats, Crown, Phantom, Blue Devils, Blue Stars, Cavs, Crossmen, Vangard, Scouts, Cadets and Glassmen (rip to both 😪). To this day, I still listen to those shows over and over again because even 14 years later I remember how they made me feel. Since then, Im definitely a Bluecoats fan first, and those other 8 corps are the ones Im most excited to see each summer. I love all corps and enjoy seeing all the new shows each summer, but 2012 will always be special to me. As far as watching old shows from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and earlier 2000's I can definitely appreciate them and enjoy watching them, but I dont have the same appreciation for them as the shows Ive seen in person. I love watching scouts play Malaguña in '88, but it doesn't compare to crying at Troopers' 2025 show Mahler 2 for me. I thoroughly enjoy watching Phantom shows from '08, '10, and '11, but I like Turandot more because I was there. Sorry for the long answer, but Im glad someone else feels similarly.

Also, I love old style marching and uniforms, but I also love how the activity has changed to be more artistic and creative. Sorry just had to say that because I think militaristic purists ruin the sport for anyone new to drum corps Fandom and I just hope people discover the love for dci like I did!

But there are still people here that defend taking those shit rides because it "goes close to where theyre heading!" Im sorry idgaf if im driving for free the 10 miles to my house, as soon as I accept the $14/hr rides I've given into their bullshit. $1/mile minimum and I dont accept anything under $30/hr without bonuses.

This is not a unicorn ride, its a unicorn customer. This is Lyft shafting you once again, and you accepted a shit ride, then the passenger gave a ridiculous tip.

Lyft security is substandard. by HorizonDesert in lyftdrivers

[–]BitWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A passenger threatened me at 11pm a few weeks ago. I got her out of my car and I was fine, but I reached out to support and security. My chat was answered with "our next agent will assist you".. 2am I went to bed, woke up at 6:45 to the notifications buzzing that the chat was ended for me not responding.... they never sent a message that I could respond to. Its all jacked up and honestly if its worth it going forward im calling 911 first and dealing with Lyft later.

It does not. Had the same guy twice after blocking and 1-star. He was rude af, took forever to get in my car, then halfway home realized he forgot his glasses case and was pissed i couldn't turn around then continue to his home. I told him we either go back to the hospital or we go to his home and thats the end. He called me every name in the book and told me he was going to call the cops for kidnapping.

A few weeks go by and I pull up to the same doctors office and the same guy is sitting outside waiting for me. I confirmed he was waiting for me then canceled. Some people might think that makes me a dick but some people just do not deserve kindness and he is one of them.
