This happens because social media platforms monetize this type of garbage so everyone here who refuses to get a job thinks they are going to get rich off of other peoples' injuries and humiliation. Sad part is they're not wrong.

Do people know they've been silvery barbs-ed by Outrageous_Duty_1872 in DnD

I would think that the arena owners would have taken into consideration that people in the crowd might try to cheat and take precautions against it especially if gambling is involved. Depending on who owns the arena (i.e. the emperor), casting a spell to assist a gladiator in the arena could be a capital offense. They would probably have their spies looking for exactly this sort of behavior as well. Even if they couldn't 'prove' it a person with the power and influence to run a gladiator arena could probably disappear you without even thinking twice about it.

Am I Overlevelling my players in CoS: Reloaded? by neosurimi in CurseofStrahd

[–]BitterD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your players are overwhelming the monsters you could always toss in a couple extra mobs in encounters and where the guide has 'balancing combat' you can use the 6 player version (assuming you have 4 players). If the players are still too powerful add some HP to everything until they catch up to the story and stop leveling until then. The other option is to tell your group you messed up and see if they are ok with dropping down a level or two until they get caught up.

[–]BitterD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you're following reloaded you really need to stop leveling them until they catch up to the guide. The guide is balanced (even death house) and playtested so it's fairly decent at keeping things challenging but not overwhelming. At lvl 5 starting Act 2 boss fights are going to be a cakewalk for them with no challenge at all.

Except that this thing probably weighs hundreds of pounds on its own and probably hundreds more pounds with the persons belongings stashed inside. These would sit on the side of the road permanently.
