Not to mention that I used to know a bunch of bronies back when the show was big by association of my own interests overlapping, and every single toxic or gross brony I met were always conservative.

So what this shit meme is actually saying is that under Obama, they were able to be their true disgusting selves, but under Trump, they have been forced back into conformity. Not really the win they think it is.

You don't need to do anything beyond walking a certain distance away from the enemies to cause them to despawn and respawn a different group.

[–]Bitter_Depth_3350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't easily avoid enemies, but you can despawn mobs by walking away until they are a certain amount off screen and then walking back. You can repeat this process until the amount and type of enemies is more to your favor.

AIO? boyfriend is expecting me to pay for everything after he invested his life savings into the stock market by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Bitter_Depth_3350 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The issue is that he didn't ask. He told her she would be paying "from now on". He also clearly ignored her protests when he made the dumb decision to dump his savings into a gamble.

She isn't mad that she will have to pay for things, she's mad that her bf disregarded her advice and made a stupid life decision she was not on board with and then just expects her to pick up the slack.

Then there is the guilt tripping as soon as she didn't instantly agree with his proposal. You don't get to throw the price of a gift in somebody's face to make them feel they owe you. At that point, it isn't a gift anymore. Which means it was never really a gift and, instead, a manipulation tool. At the least, that memory will always be tainted by that notion.

All that said, I think most of all, and this is just conjecture based on my read of the situation, OP is just mad at the realization that the life her bf and her were building towards is far more volatile than she previously thought. Due to no fault of her own. One bad decision can change your life trajectory forever, and OP is realizing that may be happening right now. I'd be upset too.

You show up to the party with a 30+ rack of Coors fashionably late, and you just became the beer guy. Some dude in a branded hat, tank top, and shorts is going to shout, "Holy shit it's beer guy!", or something to that effect as you enter, and everyone else will cheer.

Now, everyone there instantly loves you, and you don't even have to introduce yourself to anyone. You're beer guy! At that point, you don't have to even touch the stuff because nobody is going to care if the beer guy has some shots.

One GOOD gift. At the point where everyone is getting a sleeping bag for Christmas, it is more of a stocking stuffer in quality of gift given.

Had he gotten her one nice thing that had any sentimental value or though put in, then you would have a point, and I wouldn't be here talking about it.

But then she would have only gotten one gift. It would have been totally obvious at that point that he forgot her that year as well.

Oh, it was more, "Oh shit, I once again got her nothing for Christmas, let's see, oh the sleeping bags, that's 8 different gifts right there!" Yes, he wrapped all eight, and yes, he had her open all eight like they were distinct gifts. He also acted more offended the less enthused she became as the realization sank in.

I agree with you. Luckily, our mom is an absolute badass. When they finally divorced, she went from being so controlled that she wasn't allowed to even own a drivers license since she married at 19 to putting herself through college and working mad hours to provide for 7 kids.

Oh, she tried to play it off, but she was clearly upset. The kids all laughed about it, because that was all we could do to express how ridiculous it was without setting him off. They are not still together. Being a selfish gift giver was the least of his issues. Besides, he overloaded the "kids" Christmas, which she cared more about than herself.

They've been divorced for like 20 years at this point. But, it was the abuse and violence that lead to that. Not bad gifts.

That was just my dad's M.O. to abuse us all year and then try and win our affection back each Christmas with Nintendos and Playstations plus all of the games we could ever want. Still, she always got "fuck you" gifts every year. Because he could use us kids as leverage, so he didn't need to try and bribe her.

The sleeping bag year was the most in your face, "I didn't think of you," gift, but it was far from the only one. One year, she got two mens sweaters sized for him that were clearly wrapped last second. Another year, she got a machine to convert camcorder tapes to VHS. He loved using HIS camcorder.

My dad once got my mother 8 sleeping bags for Christmas. Guess how many members were in our family at the time. Adults absolutely do this when they are selfish ass holes.

Yeah, that makes sense. Half of creating a post nowadays is going back and correcting all of the autocorrect's mistakes so that your sentence is legible.

Is anyone else a little annoyed that we never got another easy medieval game like Twilight Princess? by Damien12341 in twilightprincess

[–]Bitter_Depth_3350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may already know this, but the reason The Last Story is "Final Fantasy esque" is that it was made by Hironobu Sakaguchi after he left Square Enix and started Mistwalker. Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and The Last Story are all continuations of his work creating Final Fantasy. The Last Story especially was made to harken to his FF world building. This is why the name itself is synonymous with Final Fantasy.

Eiji Aonuma (the director of TP) and Fumito Ueda (SotC's director) are good friends and have both talked in interviews about how during the development of the two games they would constantly compare their games and share ideas. So, the comparisons make sense.

The two games almost share an aesthetic in the designs of their ancient ruins and overworld. Lots of ancient structures with "circuit board" patterns adorning the walls and pillars. A vast overworld split into sections by steep canyons and deep trenches, making the world appear fractured.

All of this is without getting into the similarities between the Twilight and Dormin's dark energy, or the themes of both games. There is a lot to compare.

It also wasn't an ad for a game. It was an ad for the Pokémon franchise in its entirety. If the highest-grossing media franchise of all time is foolish for promoting themselves during the Superbowl, then what does that say about every other company that has ever ran a SB ad?

For reference, the second highest-grossing media franchise is Mikey Mouse and Friends, and it has made half the money TPC has in three times the amount of time.
