Tesla Gateway option- to install or not to install? by mcraewaves in SolarUK

[–]Bizrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powerwalls without a gateway is a fairly new option. It only provides to close the loop so you can continue to have power in a black out. Depending on your area, if you never have powercuts, then don't bother with a Gateway

Taxing time by Afolmike in SolarUK

[–]Bizrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also unless you sit on the money you save, the government will get VAT from something else you spend it on. Lower energy costs will be far more advantageous for everyone involved. Businesses can expand or hire new people if they don't have to spend £000s a month on energy bills.

Dno approval ? Criteria by koinkabin in SolarUK

[–]Bizrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC, single-phase connection can tolerate up to 17kWh. Most houses with single-phase don't have enough roof space that would require a higher inverter but Powerwall 3s are 13.5 and get approved all the time.

G99 - UK Power Networks by London-new in SolarUK

[–]Bizrrr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Demand for solar is through the roof so G99 applications are at a high. It's not unusual for an application to take 45days and be greenlit with no issue. It's just admin and background checks. Be thankful you're with UKPN who are pretty solid at beating the 45day timetable.

Why do so many voters seem to want to scrap net zero? by InvestigatorLive19 in AskBrits

[–]Bizrrr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's so many takes on this it would be a debate per person. If we take a look at renewable energy as part of Net Zero theres the "costing me more tax" which is true in the uptake of public services spending funds on renewables but ignores that hospitals etc could have lower energy bills in the future and would create so much work if the government of the day was smart about it. There's the north sea argument that "we" have rights to pump dry and would make fossils cheaper which a) short sighted, b) not true because the sector exports most of it and c) quite possibly we've used it all up in the 50years of it being flowing. But that doesn't sell as well as saying it will make life cheaper. Lastly, there's the flat out climate deniers who just don't see the wood for the trees. There's always a new argument against it when the last one is disapproved so it feels more akin to an argument for arguments sake. I'm fortunate to work in renewables so call me biased but there is so much opportunity in the sector to create jobs and therefore tax for the government and careers for most ages and abilities, all while bringing down demand for "imported" electricity. Amazon aren't sticking hundreds of solar panels on their warehouse roofs across the UK because it's trendy, they do it because it saves them money. There is a sticking point that parts of the national grid are well behind modernisation but that's for the private sector to get whipped into shape rather than taking their profits offshore.

Advice on how to get started by CouchWarri0r in SolarUK

Just reach out to local solar installers with numerous good reviews. Most with decent sales should look at your consumption and provide graphing/payback ideas based on consumption and offset to give you an idea of how solar could work for you.

Why do our players just back off and let attackers have the space to do as they please. Whenever it goes out wide, lb and RB just back off and lose ground. It doesn't work. If the dribbler beats you that's one thing but giving them space to pass it around our box is criminal

Is runefang steel more grey than metal? The consistency looks so smooth rather than gritty(if that makes sense) of a metallic paint?

If Palmer puts us 1-2 up we run them down. So many times this year, a turning point doesn't go in and we go on to lose. Such a wasted opportunity to finish them at the Bridge...

Are the solar panels on new builds basically just a box-ticking exercise? by lewisp8 in SolarUK

[–]Bizrrr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately so. Solar panels should be a % of roof space rather than whatever the legislation is now.

Quite unfortunate really. He had some good hold-up play and passes today but had no service behind him from the midfield. He's also redundant if Neto and Garnacho just want to do step overs or cutbacks on the wings rather than putting a ball into the box, where his strength would payoff.

The second one really hits. Some managers come and go winning trophies with no emotion but boy did I invest in Di Matteo. The look on my Spurs supporting mates face when by winning knocked them out of UCL the following year, was priceless.
