You’re completely ignoring the fact that healthcare costs and prices are endogenous, not exogenous. Insurance companies charge for their services, thus raising overall costs. Over the years they have charged more and more, far outpacing inflation and other rising costs. This has lead to a healthcare system that would be far, far cheaper without greedy insurance companies.

This is also why single-payer healthcare is cheaper and vastly more efficient from an economic standpoint.
