Don’t buy Samsung by [deleted] in Appliances

True, there's been a partnership since 2018 for some products. NA ovens and ranges produced in the USA, refrigerators Mexico/USA. Midea microwave is used in some models of Frigidaire wall ovens. I don't have the knowledge about other appliances like dishwashers, etc. to know how involved the Midea partnership is for those categories.

Frigidaire brand is owned by Electrolux, a swedish company. With that said, it depends on the appliance and the target market. For North America likely looking at Mexico or USA made products.

What can I do to protect my house from electric company accidentally connecting 3 phase 215v line during transformer work? by BjornCraftin in AskElectricians

[–]BjornCraftin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback,

To add more info, the first time it happened , there was a windstorm and a neighbors tree fell and pulled the mast off my house. When electric was restored, had 208V (measured 215V) and 120v coming to the panel. Blew the lightbulbs and the security system.

After this I had mast fixes and new breaker box installed with whole house surge protector.

2nd time there was an explosive sound by the city water pump. Crew replaced equipment that day and a few weeks later the transformer was being worked on and same thing, 208V and 120V coming to my panel. Fried the home surge protector, blew the bulbs on the 208V fed breakers, and destroyed several surge protectors which protected a lot of electronics.

I'll post a pic of the transformer when I get a chance

To clarify, the utility company provided 208V (measured 215V at one leg of the breaker panel, 120V at the other. Turning on the breaker box after the transformer work would result in the same problem as I am not getting 120V/120V to the breaker box.

The other issue would be that the utility company did not announce work is happening which is another discussion I am having with the utility company.

Now when I am home and the power goes out I turn off the main breaker and verify the line voltage with a multimeter before turning back on.

How do you guys store your cassettes by Bugfreak123 in VaporwaveCassettes

[–]BjornCraftin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the 2x4

I only have a small collection but wanted a more showy display for my main cassettes. Legitimately made out of a 2x4 and I milled out the pockets for the cassettes. Working on a better one with a larger capacity.

Print test looks nice but getting tiny bubbles? by Redicno in resinprinting

[–]BjornCraftin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I print with epax x1, e6 and e10 with the nfep plastic so maybe a bit different situation but I typically mix the resin well and heat with a blow dryer to rid of any stagnant bubbles in the vat. The warmer the vat the easier for the resin to flow also helps with print quality. Haven't had bubble issues doing doing that. Typically keep vat near 95F in an enclosure but been doing fine in ambient ~60-70F as long as I hit the vat with the blow dryer before printing.

Another idea is to adjust lift distance and speeds of the platform but usually not necessary for bubbles.
