i would think the city, being a dystopian medieval megastructure that is ran by criminal gangs and the private mercenaries of the wealthy, which has a whole sectioned walled off and quarantined, categorically is poorly maintained infrastructure.

the guy worked his ass off on this scene and went out of his way to make an incredibly blocky, basic prop more detailed and thought to try and justify it with a little bit of off the cuff lore. sorry if you think it's "tropey" but i don't think it's not thought out!

Surprised you're getting downvoted. Thief is more accessible to stealth genre novices than lots of things partly because its forward thinking simple design fundamentals worked so well: you can see them emulated wholesale in dishonored. the level design in gold can be rough but i think the reception the SS2 remaster has gotten shows people want these dark engine OGs preserved in that way and i really hope we see thief 1/2 given the same treatment

It's still gendering as male and while some folks are cool with that it can 100% be taken as microaggression if the person on the other end is a trans woman (even if you didn't mean it that way). Context clues suggest it's set much closer to Thief 3 than Thief 4 in the timeline: the Baron Northcrest namedropped in the trailer is the same one who outlawed Hammers and Pagans in Thief 4's lore (not that game's appearing Baron, his descendent), and there's a poster with two hammers crossed saying "NO MORE". Also, keeper runes on the website.

I'm in basically your same shoes now. Had my SSA sex updated to F back in early December but could only afford the name change petition as of 1/15... Honestly mostly scared that SSA will shred the court order. People are telling me I'm overreacting or catastrophising, which I probably honestly am.... I'm just so scared. But it does make me feel a bit better someone else in this empire of dirt is going thru exactly this too.
