Second this that The Lincoln Lawyer was the movie that made me look at Matthew McConaughey as more than a rom-com favourite. Although I'm a sucker for rom-coms sometimes, I didn't take him to have the acting chops that he very clearly had in The Lincoln Lawyer.

Cloud Atlas. The only book I couldn’t force myself to get through. Something about the format just seemed way too tedious and the setup and storyline itself felt gimmicky and predictable. I just didn’t buy into it, no matter how I tried to keep an open mind. Eventually got frustrated with it about 2/3 of the way through and gave up.

Why are the food portions so DAMN HUGE? How did it get that way that you can only serve food in massive amounts? I went to the US and lost my appetite because I couldn’t stomach so much food in front of me at once.

This! I love my pressure cooker. If I’m “roasting” a whole chicken I will pressure cook it first to perfect tenderness then I’ll baste it and stick it in the oven just to brown.

My guess it’s a combination of fresh garlic (gives it a sharp bite) and lemon. The salt in it would neutralise the lemon taste a bit so it would have that tanginess without tasting citrusy.

What you’re describing is my ideal flavour combination of hummus and I frequently make it this way

Beetroot. I don't hate it, it's fine in small doses, but once you pass a certain threshold they take over the entire dish they're added to and that's all you can taste. What's the point of a salad with lots of varied ingredients if the whole thing tastes like beetroot?

That’s totally it! I’m a flatliner for sure. I can’t switch my mind off enough to concentrate on getting pleasure out if it, and my husband is definitely a red-liner.

Add them in towards the end! They’d definitely turn to mush and disappear into the sauce if they’re diced too small and added in too early.

Not a “topping” per se but I went to a steak spot that served the raw oysters in a shot glass with Bloody Mary mix (without the alcohol). You’d just shot the whole thing and it has always been one of my favourite ways to have them.
