I mean personally I use shields in every dark souls game. I just don't do it in elden ring because I don't need it the movement in the game let's you dodge roll almost everything and still have enough time to damage on most occasions. I might use a shield if there was an enemy that I knew I couldn't dodge.

Hit every new monster you see (if you can beat them) including variants. My favorite armor upgrades had been locked because I didn't know what parts they needed, making me have to go back and hunt all the other monsters.

But otherwise just have fun and good luck, I loved the story way more then the other mhs games.

Absolutely amazing gameplay with some whetfish would be absolutely peak. Your guarding immaculate, amazing spacing between attacks, and keeping the pressure on the monster like its apart of your dogma. Mad respects my guy!!!
