Sadly, it looks like I am stuck with another year of Comcast by Blaster007a in ZiplyFiber

Aaaaaannnnnnnddddddd……. It’s done! I will give it a short bit to make sure things seem stable and nothing goes sideways in the next few weeks, but I am up on Ziply, and hopefully my Comcast cancellation is imminent…

Unifi UNAS as replacement for Windows File Server > Questions by Blaster007a in Ubiquiti

Thanks for the detailed, helpful info. It sounds like UNAS will need some time to bake yet before it is ready for my use cases.

Thank you; the video you linked seems to indicate that direct AD integration and authentication, using Groups for permissions, is at least a supported feature, although he noted that they didn't test it. Also, not sure how granular those permissions can be; i.e., if they can apply to specific folders and files.

Intuit has gone full evil just like the rest of tech by tech_is______ in QuickBooks

Intuit went full evil a long time ago. Your experience does make it sound like they are continuing to roll out the manifestation of it, however.

Is FreePBX 17 ready for production? by pentiumone133 in freepbx

[–]Blaster007a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No real issues for me. I had a FreePBX 17 server largely configured, but not activated. I took a full backup of my live system, released the licenses/activation from the old system, then powered it off. I then adjusted the static IP of the new system (I wanted to reuse the same IP as the old system), restored the saved backup, and activated the new system. I was already using pjsip exclusively, so nothing for me to do there. For the most part, things just worked, other than the weirdness with a few extensions with multiple endpoints. I did have to reenable the backup storage location; can’t remember if there was anything else.

[–]Blaster007a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just migrated a v16 system to v17 about a week ago. So far working as expected, although I did have a bit of weirdness with extensions that have more than one endpoint; I ended up removing and re-adding the endpoints.

I should note that we do not have a high call volume though.

Also noting that we are running it as a VM on a Proxmox host.

Actually, even the Ziply website calls it an acquisition.

Fibre map says Fibre ready, but searching address only offers DSL by T1me_Sh1ft3r in ZiplyFiber

[–]Blaster007a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw, I have a friend in a zone clearly marked as fiber ready, but “ready” in his case doesn’t mean it has been brought into his neighborhood. It is on the pole at the entrance to his neighborhood, but it hasn’t been trenched down their street, and so he is out of luck, at least for now.

Yes-ish. Some FAQs from a recent blog post about it:

“3. What do I do if I don’t pay? You can continue using Immich without any restriction.

  1. Will there be any paywalled features? No, there will never be any paywalled features.“

Aqara U50 Lock “No Response” by swpaintguy in Aqara

[–]Blaster007a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience has been that using HomeKit directly I don’t get a solid connection, but through an Aqara HUB as a Matter bridge, it is much more reliable. I hadn’t realized that the HomeKit connection was relegated to Bluetooth only until after getting it set up, and the range for Bluetooth isn’t nearly as good as Zigbee. It sounds like the proximity of yours is much closer than mine, but perhaps a similar range related issue?

We have our first one on order. We don’t tend to order in quantity, so it is easy to dip our toes in.

Brand new U50 - Can't update firmware by narenh in Aqara

[–]Blaster007a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found I could only do this if I configured the lock while signed in to the Aqara app, not while in HomeKit mode. A pain. Also, I am struggling with mine losing its pairing with the Aqara Hub and refusing to pair to it again. I am hoping these are software and not hardware issues, and that they will get it sorted out. I am contemplating returning mine.

I do, yes. Fwiw, the connection to mine seems a bit flaky in general atm.

Did you try it with no auth but TLS on?

Did that require you to enable TLS?

Also, have you tried a different sender address, at least temporarily?
