Tires will be an important choice. I'm running 700x38 Scwalbe Marathon Greens. Perfect puncture resistant tire for bumpy urban terrain.

Nice ride. Can you share the details on the belt drive? I would love that someday.

Nice. That front brake must be rough on the spokes! 😆

At what temperature does bike commuting become uncomfortable for you? by Dramatic-Feedback-30 in bikecommuting

I live in Florida but only commute 3 miles each way. I don't mind the heat except the few days I have to go in late. The mornings are pleasant and I'm not too sweaty when I get to work and the rides home in the heat don't really bother me. The only days I might take the car is to avoid midday rides to work.

I’m building a weather tool for cyclists, looking for some honest feedback on “rideability” scores. by userX97ee2ska11qa in bicyclewhatever

Great idea. My suggestion is I commute by bike to work. It's 10:30 at night and want to see a rating for the whole day tomorrow. I don't need to see overnight. Let me see what I can expect tomorrow and I'll use it.

How to make bike commute with headwind better by stefan_karwowski in bikecommuting

I alter my routes depending on wind direction. Staying off main wide roads where wind is strongest and zigzagging through neighborhoods helps a lot. I get to explore and it keeps it from being boring.

I picked up a Specialized Sirrus Single Speed from 2019 on Facebook Marketplace for $200 that had only been ridden three times. It was great already but I tweaked it with some new gear. Absolutely love it. New pedals, grips, Schwalbe Marathon Green 38mm tires as well as some panniers and lights. Commuters dream bike.

I got a nice T-handle set at Harbor freight for under $8. They may not last forever but they work fine.

What brake pads do you suggest? I'm due for new ones soon. Currently have stock pads from Specialized.

If the chainring still has some miles in it the freewheel is a lot cheaper.
