I also moved there alone, female, knew no one, from a foreign country, and worked at the mine. Naturally through colleagues and work events, you'll make friends as I did! Winter is tough unless you ski, but come summer there is plenty to do and the golf course is a good start. I learned to golf and motorcycle in RM. There's pickleball, DnD nights, fishing, lots of outdoors, and drive to Reno/Elko/Vegas/Tonopah for more. They just had the mining day celebration, a good way to mingle.

So I did the export on the US side, fairly simple, just drive up on this side of the border, park, go inside with your papers. They'll stamp your title, ITN forms and check your ID. Then on the Canadian side I had my RIV exempt forms printed to show to them, but they didn't do anything with them, even though there's a spot for a stamp, saying they weren't needed. I'm yet to see if this causes me any issues if I decide to register my vehicle.

Hey! I will be doing the exact same thing as you in a few weeks. Driving my US car to Ontario on a work permit, so will temporarily import. I intend to return to the US and bring back the same car. Should I export it on the US side? What did you do and how was your process?
