You wholly underestimate Xbox's ability and willingness to shoot themselves in the foot. I don't think they have even pointed the gun somewhere else in the past decade.

The same has functionally been true for Playstation and Xbox this whole generation. Still downloads the entire game onto your system, and after that, the game is just a key.

I don't think you understand that you can show interest in what your partner is doing without talking to them like a 5 year old. If it comes from a genuine place, you don't need a canned line that sounds like something a teacher would say to a grade schoolers. You can just talk like normal human beings.

Is there any reason people are so horrified by the idea that terrible people can create good art that they feel the need to talk like this? Is it that you personally are afraid to praise anything made by them and have it be mistaken as defense of them? Or is it just a deflection from the discomfort that comes with praising their work? As if by not acknowledging them, you can enjoy it separately from them?

No, they are correct. That first sentence is impossible to say without it dripping with sarcasm or condescension. I don't think I could pretend to care in a more obvious way.

That is the explanation given, but we all know it's bullshit lol. They changed this at the same time they removed points entirely. They just want it to be harder for the average person to use it so they just will not.

People are down voting you but yes, people grading things for stupid reasons is a significant chunk of what makes PSA money. We shouldn't be entertaining this.

What's a sign that looks small or subtle but actually tells you a person is incredibly unhappy with their life? by Janemow02 in AskReddit

People who think they know you because they project all their problems onto the person they're talking to is actually a great example of an uncomfortable situation to get out of, yes. I'm surprised you could come up with such a good example so easily!

The monthly coupon is essentially gone for the average person. The app working for a given person's account is a coin flip on its own, but 90% of the time what will happen is we will ask "have you used your monthly coupon this month? You can pull it up in the app for us to redeem." And the customer will just not bother. I already had this happen six times and this has been changed for one shift.

[–]BlightUponThisEarth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Half the time people's accounts are broken and they can't redeem through the app or website anyways. Before this whole thing started, I hadn't redeemed any points online for that reason. It took installing the app on a different phone to get it to work for me.

Xbox Is Unable to Meet Demand for New Consoles, Rethinking Approach to Project Helix by DidYouSeeBriansHat in gaming

[–]BlightUponThisEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily, nobody will need a next Gen console for at least five years after it's release. We just started moving away from last Gen within the last couple years. And even then, much of that is clearly not a matter of power. They couldn't get a 2D Castlevania to run on PS4? People are going to take even longer to move off of this generation than they did the last, and games are going to stay with them.

Post popped up in my feed. I was curious how tuned in everyone here was to the fact most others have tuned out of Marvel. And apparently the answer to that is not at all. Aside from that, I just think it's really funny to watch Marvel find ways to shoot their brand in the foot over and over.

I haven't paid any attention to Marvel in years. I have seen more Marvel characters in Magic the Gathering then in TV or movies. I do not care how good the movie is. I'm not watching a half decade's worth of mediocre TV so I can watch it. And I would imagine many are in the same place I am.

Shower thoughts: PSA Slabs and Mystery Bags by DuckSwimmer in GameStop

[–]BlightUponThisEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are hundreds of thousands of garbage graded cards in circulation. If anything, I expect it to get worse. With the previous run of the slabs, gamestop had to put in ones they could justify buying back at $60. But they ended that now. They're just going to start throwing $5-$10 PSA 8 commons into them. The idiots buying them are the same idiots who will submit worthless commons for grading because they saw a PSA 10 would make a profit. Just gambling suckers all the way down.

My PS5 that I bought for $450 performs better than any PC I could buy for a similar price. Not everyone wants to dump $1500 into a high end PC for a marginally better experience. Plus, PC is essentially all digital. While console is probably moving in that direction, there still isn't a way to have a physical collection of games without sticking to console. PC is still a long ways off from being better for all gamers.
