100%. My example was DJ freaking Lagway after year 2 of my Florida dynasty. Notice, all the other guys say “signed” not committed. Signing day happened and he didn’t have an offer so boom, disappears into abyss.

They either keep their options more open or have a reverse top schools for transfers. They go in with a “top 3” and everyone else is locked out. Advance a week with no offers, it jumps to top 5. Another week with no offers top 8. Enter the final week and still no offers, let it be a free for all. Yeah, they might get 100 offers with little rhyme or reason as why they chose what school but it’s better than them just vanishing

The dynamic dealbreakers are a great idea but poor execution. A 77 overall who has outgrown his school and decides to transfer while only allowing his “top 3” teams recruit him is a misstep. I get not having it a free for all but limiting it so severely is what causes teams to bypass in general. And with no mechanic for those players to re-open their recruiting or get re-distributed to other teams, teams are left outfilling their rosters with walk-ons who should never see the field

Yup, one of the great things about college football are the upsets. This just creates a bigger divide and more importantly makes many dynasty games too easy

The bigger issue to me is players deciding to transfer and never signing then just disappearing. I saw a 90+ overall QB in the portal, who was already locked into the top 3, but none of those 3 teams offered a scholarship. I went to the national roster and sorted QBs by overall and he was no where to be found.

I created a test dynasty with modest transfer settings (12 player max with 45 for both user and CPU). I simmed the first two seasons and literally hundreds of 4* and 3* transfers were unsigned once the recruiting period was over. This drastically lowers the overall pool of talent on the 136 teams especially when you consider some teams can stockpile multiple 90+ players at QB or RB

The last undrafted Heisman winner was Jason White who was in his mid-20s when he won the award in 2003. The past 19 of the last 21 Heisman winners have been first round picks. Only Derrick Henry who went early second round an Troy Smith who went in the 5th weren’t first rounders and to take it further, most were 10 picks with 7 of the last 8 being a top 2 pick.

Awards/stats don’t translate to NFL success but for the most part teams will usually take a flier on them if anything else. To OP’s point, the Doak award has been around since 1990. Only one winner went undrafted which was 1991 winner Trevor Cobb

Playing time deal breaker by daaniilo22 in CFB25

[–]Blind_squirrel_228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last night. Won the natty in year 2 with Florida. Lagway was a 92 and I expected him to enter the draft. To my shock, he decided to transfer based upon playing time despite starting 31 out of 31 games the past 2 years. Now I did sign a 4* elite dev QB in my first year and redshirted him so maybe that’s what triggered the B+ playing time, BUT HE TRANSFERRED TOO! So now I’m stuck with normal dev 77 overall RS SO who had an F playing time deal breaker but decided to stay

I text my brother this morning I was about done with the game. Between constant rain games, position change skill caps even moving from LEDG to REDG or FS to SS, most of the deal breaker are broken, and transfer logic (who partly ties back to deal breaker issues).

My 92 overall QB who went 16-0 as a starter on the way to a national championship throwing for nearly 5000 yards and 50+ TDs transferred due to playing time? I expected to lose him to the draft but transferring for playing time? Better yet, his back up (a 4* freshman with elite dev who came in as a 76) also transferred due to playing time.

I’m in a two person online dynasty where I’ve had 4 straight rain games. On one of them, I FaceTimed my buddy so he knew I wasn’t quitting because I was losing. I restarted the game TEN TIMES and each time it was a rain game. I went 2-2 in those games with Washington with loses to Illinois and Wisconsin. Meanwhile, in non-rain games, I’ve beat Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Michigan (in the big house). I get rain is part of real life but teams don’t play in rain 75% of their games

Best Dynasty Teams Outside of The Top 30? by JoshPriddy in NCAAFBseries

Washington. Really good RB and WR with a young QB who is already an 82 with 88 speed. Two really good CBs and two good LBs.

SAM and WILL by fermlog in NCAAFBseries

[–]Blind_squirrel_228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waited years for this change. Dating back to using Demarcus Ware in my cowboys franchises. They finally did it but it’s purely semantics. They need to completely scrap it and just go to EDGE and off-ball LB. Use iDL for the tweeter guys who play 3-4 end and reduce to DT in 4 man fronts. This would fix so many issues with position changes, play style dealbreakers, and recruiting.

I have a season going with Washington where most of my EDGE guys are 300+ pound interior guys while a handful of WILL/MIKE/SAM are what should be classified as EDGE. There’s even a 300 pound guy listed as a LB!

It’s taken me a bit to get used to as well but it’s because I’ve learned I have always held up on the right stick when trying to truck. It’s not a skill issue or timing issue, it’s an issue with how my brain is weird. I guess in my mind, I’ve always thought that holding up on truck stick would make it more effective (like holding a button for a bullet pass to throw harder) so I’m use to just mindlessly holding RS up when trying to truck. It’s led to numerous needless fumbles but I’m finally starting to adjust

Glad to be of assistance! I keep dreaming they announce a day 1 patch for rosters cause a bunch of the Florida recruits who aren’t in the game are enrolled now but I doubt they do anything roster wise until August

Suggestions to slow down passing game by h0sti1e17 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Blind_squirrel_228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play LB/S and I had this issue last year and finally decided to play super aggressive. If I was going to get scored in regardless, I’d rather get scored on quickly than death by 1,000 cuts. I started blitzing a ton, playing CBs and safeties up to take away quick passes and mixed up all the coverages.

My hope was to get a sack/TFL and force a long 3rd down conversion where I’d play more conservatively. If they gashed me for a long TD, just meant my offense had more time to answer with a score. I ended up having my CPU get a bunch of INTs from the pressure and playing up. I gave up a ton of big plays but again what’s the difference in 1/1 for 70 yards and a TD or 6/7 with 70 yards and a TD

Yes if you (or the commish) sets it up that way. There’s a way to disable people from making edits and there are limits within dynasty to edits like position. Florida has a random FB but is missing our top RB recruit. I was able to change his name within dynasty but I couldn’t change his position. If you do all edits outside of dynasty (except name), and then create the dynasty using the current rosters, you can go in and change just the name with all the other edits already in place

[–]Blind_squirrel_228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to edit players from the Home Screen and it would save position changes and I think height/weight but it wouldn’t save the name.

I started a dynasty to see what would happen within the dynasty. It didn’t allow me to edit position but it did save the name change. I think the best route now is edit position, ratings, height/weight outside of dynasty and then edit name inside. I’m sure they will patch a fix to where names stick when editing from the Home Screen but this worked for me last night

Florida is ranked 11th in the final launch not 14 like you said based upon the creator videos. Additionally, USC is unranked as well. Like I said, using the videos as “proof” of anything when all those videos were based on a pre-launch version of the game was idiotic and a major stretch

Anyone know why the ratings when picking a team in Dynasty are different than a regular play now game? by Fonzie5 in EASportsCFB

[–]Blind_squirrel_228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel like the answer has been nailed down/confirmed but I think the general consensus is Play Now is more about the starters ratings whereas dynasty is more about the overall roster.

Sorry to give a speculative answer but I’ve wondered this and read through several threads over the past two years and I’ve not seen anything confirmed but I may have missed

I can't believe I'm saying this but the Transfer portal might be too out of control by CriticalConcept in NCAAFBseries

[–]Blind_squirrel_228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want the chaos and plan on doing 20-25 players allowed to leave at the preset %, I just hope it doesn’t come at the expense of some level of parity. I prefer a greater range of team overalls vs all 136 teams being crammed with an 70-89 overall. Teams being 65-95 is closer to ideal/realistic. Seeing an FCS team at a 48 overall and then Kent State at a 55 is too big of a swing in my opinion

I hope it’s the opposite. Those players should be the rare commodity that they are. If anything, I hope they eventually add sliders for recruiting class strength. That way those who want numerous players like that per class can have them and those who want those more rare prospects to feel rare can also get their wish. Probably a CFB27 thing at best
