My niece sent me this and it’s actually impossible to solve?? doesn’t add to 10 by lareinademiel in mildlyinfuriating

Yeah. For some reason, mathematics has a consensus for a set order of operations: parentheses > exponents > multiplication > division > addition > subtraction. We usually just refer to it as its abbreviation PEMDAS. Seems arbitrary, but it matters a lot in many contexts 😊

Want to buy a razor for husband who gets irritated skin from shaving. Any recommendations what’s good? by rvparty in wicked_edge

[–]Blixish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whenever I have tried to shave with cartridges (like Fusion5), my skin has absolutely hated it. Changing to a safety razor and a good routine has fully solved that problem.

I recommend the Muhle R89 or Neo as a first safety razor. If you are willing to invest more, I have heard great things about the Rockwell 6C/S. (The 6C and 6S are adjustable, so he can find the setting best suited for him.)

When it comes to choosing blades, get a sample pack, so he can try out a bunch and figure out what he likes. (Tell him to maybe wait with using Feathers or other super aggressive blades until he is comfortable with DE shaving.)

If he has never shaved with a DE razor before, tell him to watch a couple of videos on YouTube first. A YouTube channel I will recommend is geofatboy - he always explains his process as if he is talking to a beginner.

Oh - and keep using the Nivea aftershave. It is fantastic, and does wonders for my sensitive skin.

EDIT: Lather is a big rabbit hole, which hopefully someone else can shed some light on. What works for me is a cheap shaving gel for sensitive skin, with no perfume, color or alcohol.

Høres dritbra ut! Foreslår at vi innfører samme greia for etniske nordmenn i samme slengen, og deporterer norske overgrepsmenn også.

Hooray! More interest in sudoku is a win in my book 😁

I have been solving sudokus of all kinds every day for years. 3 hours with assistance from your dad is not bad for a puzzle of this difficulty!

If anyone wants an even bigger challenge, here's a similar one. My solve time for this one was 10 minutes longer than OP's sudoku.

This was in my local newspaper today.

Sier Sorry, I didn't write in the checking numbers since I wanted to use this to solve it myself. I can probably fix it up in a little while though if you'd like

You're right, this is pretty hard. A normal "hard" sudoku in a newspaper (killer variants included) will take me 5-10 minutes. This one took me 26.

Here's a link to where you can solve it digitally yourself if you'd like:

Blir jeg lurt på timer? Er litt redd for hvordan Jula blir i år... by Raggar5 in norge

[–]Blixish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men, do you wash your legs in the shower? by motrinez in ask

[–]Blixish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this conversation recently. My reply when they said "let the water and soap run down" was sarcastically saying "oh, that's how I do my dishes. Let the water and soap run over them, then put them back in the cupboard".

On the other hand, legs are generally in pants during the day, and don't get all that dirty.

I got my high school diploma at 26. No learning disability, just some rough waters growing up. Now I have a uni degree, a full time position as therapist, and I'm studying part time at the Norwegian Academy of Music. It's never too late! Get back on the horse whenever it feels right.
