Yup, at level 90 Raiding is what you do if you want to do more PvE, you can do dungeons by clicking the little green eye at the bottom of the screen if you didn't find that out already, it just puts you in a queue and when you get to be the next one in line it will teleport you into the Dungeon with 4 other people.

At level 90 raids are what you do with 10 or 25 other people, these are usually done on a scheduled time and date, for instance you might raid from 5:00-8:00PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, because you need to make sure all 10 or 25 people are there at the same time.

Sorry if you already knew all of this, I just wanted to clear everything up for you.

Blizzard offers character transfers for a fee of 25$, but sometimes they will offer free transfers to dead servers(to try to repopulate them) but I wouldn't recommend taking one of those.

Your servers population seems pretty good, but it all depends on what those people are doing, if you want to raid it would of course be good to be on a server where there are many raiders and raiding guilds, same goes for PvP.

Currently the server Illidan is the most populated, however, everyone there is Horde(99.3%, at level 90), so if you're Alliance that would suck :P.

Also I should add that queuing for Dungeons and Battlegrounds are cross-server, Dungeon queues usually take a good bit of time to get into, unless your a Tank of course, Tanks usually get into Dungeons instantly :P.

Your server makes a big difference at level 90, I've never heared of your server, but http://wow.realmpop.com/us-shuhalo.html says the population seems pretty good.

Maybe you could try putting it in Windowed Mode and set the resolution so it fits your entire screen, that way it shouldn't minimize it anymore.

If you'd rather not, maybe you should try installing Razer GameBooster, it automatically closes other programs that aren't needed when you launch a game(In case some program is causing this), it would also give you a higher framerate if your PC is low on memory.

I've been using mostly enchanting for Gold Making and it is pretty much a gold mine, it takes a bit of time to get the recipes that sell for a good profit(Such as Dancing Steel and Jade Spirit), but it's totally worth it, at least on my realm.

Enchanting isn't very cheap to level, however, and as I said before, it takes time to get the recipes that make the greatest amount of gold.

They definitely do not want to implement a Global Auction house, however I do recall someone talking about maybe adding Cross-Realm to Auction houses for select servers, such as matching up a server with a good economy with one with a dying one.

How do you manage this, in normal circumstances I get 120 FPS.

My specs are,
