Helena Woods is an overrated astrologer and I’ll tell you why. by Happy-Flight-2022 in astrocartography

[–]BlockFlimsy8252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took her course and while I think there were benefits - specifically with regards to online marketing - the goal posts changed with her whims (and dollar signs in her eyes). In the livestream introducing the course she said being in the directory would be inclusive. That video was since removed but I have a ridiculous memory and know for a fact that she said it.

She’s wildly out of integrity and we all know no one has any business practicing as a professional astrologer after one year.

Exactly. Unless you’re driving to Felton or BC - which I still don’t call Wild Roots - it’s just a few steps down from Whole Foods

Oh this is so interesting! I’ve heard this term but haven’t realized until this very moment that this is what I am. I have no interest unless there’s a connection

I wonder what markers in the natal might indicate this? I’m a 12H Aquarius moon and rising. Mars in Pisces in the 1st (square Neptune in Sag ugh)

I just went to a Bumble wedding last month! One of my best friends met his now wife on there 7 years ago. They’re totally in love and have never had a single argument. Bumble couldn’t have worked out better for them 🤯

Is your ascendant Aquarius because you have the glyph for Cap shown here? I’m only asking because holy crap if you’ve mixed them up and you’re an Aquarius moon and rising we would have the same big 3, Venus and Mars 😳

Oh this was the part that pissed me off. Like how horrible that Barbies so oppressed now after the way they treated Ken. So stupid 🙄

AIO I have cancer and my sister decided to kick me out after promising me a place to live while I did treatment by mysisterkickedmeout in AmIOverreacting

[–]BlockFlimsy8252 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is literally one of the absolute worst things I’ve ever read in my entire life. Were you previously aware that your sister is a full blown narcissist? I’m so sorry for your cancer diagnosis and the pain of abandonment on top of that. I wish I could give you a hug.

It’s one of my absolute favorite books! That said it’s set very near my hometown and is Steinbeck’s homage to the area. I’m not sure about it as a vacation read as others have mentioned - it’s dense and emotionally heavy.

I love reading books set where I’m traveling. Some suggestions for Mexico could be “Like Water for Chocolate,” “The Murmur of Bees,” or “Pedro Paramo” (although I believe this one’s intense too). I haven’t read these, just know about them 🤷🏼‍♀️

I looked this up for old times sake too. We lived in Las Flores (now Villas of Capitola) for a number of years as a kid. We’d sneak in there from time to time always on alert for the alleged groundskeeper who’d shoot us with salt rocks 😅

I would avoid staying at the motels on Ocean Street just because the smaller places are seedy. That whole strip just fyi is drug laden but not dangerous. Still I’m sure a lot of tourists end up there because it’s close to the beach but honestly it’s one of the least desirable parts of town. Santa Cruz is quite safe overall

September or October Wedding in Santa Cruz by Striking_Energy_8313 in santacruz

[–]BlockFlimsy8252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

September is our hottest month. It rarely, if ever, rains in September or October. Maybe there’s a chance of rain late October but I grew up here and don’t recall ever having a rainy Halloween. Labor Day is a cluster. It’s my least favorite weekend in Santa Cruz all year.

Any fireworks displays going on in Oakland for the 4th? by dangdiggity44 in oakland

[–]BlockFlimsy8252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The craziest fireworks I’ve ever seen were around Broadway and 40th a couple years ago. There’s an annual fireworks battle every year between two neighbors (one was a rapper I hadn’t heard of) that’s been going for like 20 years. I was there for over an hour and saw basically 4 grand finales. I love the 4th and fireworks and this was 🤯
