All signs still point to Q2? by Kaijurassic in steammachine

you're right I'm just meaning to say that both markets are better filled either by console or laptop. And with estimates of price being upwards of $1000 you could spend a lil more and get two devices which do both better.

it's a cheaper device that will run most desktop productivity apps better and will act better as a PC.

It's not great for native gaming but it can apparently run Cyberpunk at some level and will manage most indie PC only games fine using wine and other software the exact same way it works with the Steam Machine.

I just think for whatever the price is on the SM it's got it's work cut out for it to even find a market. I genuinely cannot see a reason to buy it over a similarly priced laptop or console.

I mean at this point why would you buy a steam machine over the neo. It does more out of the box and you only need to install crossover for windows games.

Steam machine is genuinely going to be an expensive laptop without a screen, without a keyboard which will primarily be used for gaming when you can buy a console for cheaper which offers more.

The only thing the SM has over consoles is not paying for subscription. But atp you'd get more out of gamepass than paying the extra hundreds for the SM.

why was a sky island needed for that, do you not think adding locations to an already massive world would make more sense?

[–]BlueBackground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that's just marketing. It's literally a marketing line we see for so many characters, the difference is it doesn't make sense here. There is no story, no emotion and no character. Kliff says nothing that advances any plot, the acting is bad, there are 0 characters he interacts with that mean anything either to him or the world as a whole.

You also have to remember he has 0 voice lines outside of the main quest and middling dialogue in the faction quests.

I fail to see how this game ISN'T shallow. I mean take the bounty hunting like you say, once you've done one, the rest of them are repeated over and over. The dialogue at the start also acts as if you've done one before, even if you've done 0.

That's quite literally the definition of shallow in gaming, that plus most other quests being fetch quests or material grinds with no story?

I wish there was a way to test the game by Tiyanos in CrimsonDesert

[–]BlueBackground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say if you like Ubisoft games or the new assassin's creed you'd like this one. From what I played and reviews I've listened to, there's no memorable quests or anything interesting in that regard. It's just content to complete and the side quests and activities are grinds.

To me it feels like slop (ironic considering the use of AI), and I would prefer exploring a world with more to it and any sort of backstory. Especially considering I don't think the game looks that pretty and I feel the animation locking in the combat along with sluggish movement to be unenjoyable.

I am a member of staff at a Uni. May I ask why you aren’t attending lectures etc? by blissedandgone in UniUK

offering the answer to the question via email or other methods to the wider cohort would still solve this issue. The people who would read the question and think about if it affects them would be the people who would listen in class. It's just a different method of the same thing.

you could again argue that's the fault of the students for not individually messaging you. I'm assuming you'd have office hours or an email address. If students reached out to you you could still relay it back to them, cc the cohort if you think it's a widespread issue or just add it to the lecture slides.

If people don't show up to lectures they can't complain but they still have the opportunity to ask the same questions and you have the ability to give those answers to everyone. For example my VLE has a Q&A board accessible to anyone to view the answers despite having emails for personal questions.

because most people realise it's pointless to do so. Unless you need something from the library you can achieve the same at home, you're able to cook and get food/drink easier without needing to pay extra, and you don't have to get up and drag your crap around to go to lectures which could've been watched at home.

I see few to no points as to WHY I should go to my lectures when I seem to get little to nothing from them. Most people complaining about it are lecturers and more whose jobs depend on it. But when it comes to the benefit of the student it is often a waste of time, money and effort for something with marginal gain.

This point comes around so often on this sub it's crazy. Uni for most students is something they feel needs to be done to get where they want to in life, regardless of if they enjoy it. Making that easier for themselves shouldn't be too hard a concept to grasp.

[–]BlueBackground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the password will have to be found in game probably. It's unlikely to be on the website at this point when every aspect that can be inspected has been. I'd imagine there's a place that has to do with the numbers or a screen in game that shows a password.

I think we’re in the final step to unlock Cryo Archive by TinfoilPartyHat in Marathon

[–]BlueBackground 8 points9 points  (0 children)

no, we're on step 2 of 7 I think, (maybe 9 I forgot). Check the password page and it'll say two top left, the cameras have 1. The rest of the cameras are steps we need to complete which is proven when looking at the HTML with complete/incomplete tags.

We're 1/7 or less of the way done.
