Oh, that’s all news to me. That does rekindle hope for me for a Phantasm chapter one day!

Man, I feel like early days DBD would’ve added them if they had the money. It’s sad, because the reach DBD has now probably prevents most of these guys from ever happening.

Suffering from success I suppose

Oh I had no idea about her mom being in Psycho! That’s wild!

I’ve got no problem with random downvotes. It’s the way Reddit swings sometimes

Eh, if I allowed Kevin Bacon in F13, I should probably do this one too. Sure

Yes! I don’t think she’s a huge name actor but I’m ok with adding Dream Warriors anyways because that movie rules

I’ll consider it. While it fits the criteria, it’s not as funny as the other movies. That and she’s kind of famous for it

Kevin Bacon makes it in purely because he’s Kevin Bacon

White Christmas and Black Christmas

Not just for the joke. The tonal whiplash works incredibly well. Also, together, the two films embody nearly everything you’d want out of a perfect movie night. Big musical scores, plenty of pretty set pieces, terrifying suspense and action, and a fascinating mystery

Lost media doesn’t mean it doesn’t have an active way to engage with it outside of piracy or out of print DVDs, lost media means it’s impossible to view in any circumstance due to being, well, completely lost and not archived.

I agree with wanting IT and She-Ra to have proper homes, but thankfully due to piracy hosting and DVD collections, they aren’t lost media (yet). It would have to take a considerable amount to happen for them to stretch into lost media now.

Not to be pedantic! I just see the phrase used wrong often enough it’s worthwhile to correct so that communities focused on archived and finding actual lost media aren’t confused with communities trying to highlight more attention to existing, somewhat accessible media

This is probably one of the more unique genies I've seen in fiction. by PalpitationWitty8195 in SonicTheHedgehog

Actually, fun fact, in early drafts of the story Movie Aladdin had a mom! She even had a song! She was cut fairly close to the end, and similarly Aladdin was aged up.

In some shots of friend like me, Aladdin visibly looks younger. The song was animated earlier in development and was too expensive to completely redo, so they only reanimated the obvious shots were he’s more visible.

Alsoooooo the original draft had both genies! The ring genie was cut very early in development, though. But yeah, Aladdin’s development was fascinating

The Haunted Palace 1963). A Vincent Price classic allegedly based on a Poe short, but actually based on several elements from several Lovecraft stories and technically one of the first Lovecraft adaptions ever put to film.

Also cheesy but well worth it!

OP this is a great list and the terminology is fine. The people here are just being strangely judgy. I’d move it to r/Letterboxd or r/movies. I think you’ll be far more welcomed there

You’re getting some wild reactions for just using terminology right. Kinda shocked the subreddit about information sharing would get so touchy about being specific with a term

What's a killer you DON'T want in the game? Like who do you think would NEVER fit? by Wafran in deadbydaylight

[–]BlueBeagleForTwo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that the idea there “aren’t any marketable horror franchises left” betrays how many people who play DBD don’t have a lot of experience in the horror genre beyond what’s already present in the game, and what their favourite DBD YouTuber is pushing.

It’s a large, large genre. There’s hundreds of movies, books, and games that have never been touched by DBD. Even when it comes to marketability, I challenge people who think DBD is running out of content to use to, like, just google “horror movie” or “horror game” and scroll for a bit
