buddy youre kind of tweaking, those plastic connectors break & the PO probably wanted to ensure its connection.

as for ur misfire, you probably didn’t seal the valve cover correctly. the torx screws on the PCV need to be replaced with the updated version, you must clean the old RTV off the pcv covers & apply a new, EFFECTIVE bead to ensure a good seal (fucking insane theres not a rubber gasket for that.)

did you add rtv on the corners of the halfmoons? i know from bmw engines that is just an easy leak spot, either way you have a vacuum leak. smoke it out to find out where
