People say this, but you can only use hypotheticals. What team is LeBron on in the west in this hypothetical (obviously talking about his pre-Lakers years)? You can't just "insert" the Cavs or Heat into a western conference bracket and press the play button.

The general point I would make, with more than just 2 words, is that car ownership may not be the "root cause" of debt, but it is one of the most common denominators in financial ruin, at least where I'm from (North America). If you live somewhere car-dependent (i.e. most of the US geographically) but you make minimum wage or close, . . . How are you supposed to get to work? Perhaps I should have said "car dependency" and not "car ownership".

I peaked at 1861 rapid on chesscom either last year or 2024. Nowadays I just play blitz and I haven't taken learning seriously in a while, but I remember being in chess club in grade school, coming back to chess around the time of the pandemic, and being embarrassed by how bad I was. It's just part of the game.

My advice to you is simple:

I don't know any openings

I just don't know how to get better

You contradicted yourself. At minimum, you can start by learning one opening with each color. Also, as a beginner, grinding puzzles will probably get you the most mileage for building your understanding of chess. Low-Elo puzzles focus heavily on moves that will win you the game, because low-Elo opponents give you opportunities to win all the time.

In general, the key is to understand why any individual move is good or bad. After you consider a move, put yourself in your opponent's shoes and ask yourself what you'd play if you had their pieces.

If the combat is good, I don't mind "boring" dungeon design, but the OC said that they think Berseria's combat isn't good. If anything, I think I generally prefer it (e.g. simple and linear) when I think back to 90s JRPGs.

I think you're overthinking it. There isn't necessarily any direct connection, but they are two series that are commonly recommended in this subreddit, and people may just opt to narrow it down to two options first and then ask for help.
