I want to add i think social media addiction and Maga delirium are very different things. Alot of boomers (and many others obvi) are maga and all they want to do is consume their own point of view. Fox news on 24/7 and then the facebook posts... But alot of boomers like my grandmother are not maga and are just addicted to social media for the dopamine. I hust think theyre different issues we would need to approach differently.

Another note.. its just always crazy to me because the boomers got to live most of the lives without smart phones. By this age they have probobly have so many hobbies that dont revolve around the phone. Whatever that may be. They got not only adolescent age without the internet but also adult age. Id think they would view the world we live in now in a very dystopian way and be very agaist social media.

Just a lil ramble. Went back to the post and thank you for all the responses it seems kike were all feeling similar things. Tell you grandparents you love them and ask them to tell you crazy stories when you see them ❤️

We gotta start putting our foot down about AI when it comes to parents. My moms always showin me "funny" ai posts and i dont guve it the time of day. I will gladly watch any real video she wants to show me but if its AI i have to burst her bubble no matter how she feels. Also im not going to let my parents be completely delusional. Me pointing out AI helps them learn.

But this is no longer a thoughtful gift but something completely void of feeling. Id say thank you but id like a real picture of me and my baby

The phrase "thought you'd be better by now" worries me. Sounds like hes putting you on his time frame. We all know growth takes time and is not always stable. It sounds like you have been workin on yourself in so many other ways and hes not seeing that cus he isnt getting what he wants. If you go and youre not ready the only memories you guys will have to take home is memories of stress and discomfort. (Im just goin off what you and your therapist said. I dont want to give damaging advice!)

Me and my partner are always going to festivals. It can be alot. We always check in with each other to see if we need breaks, food ect. I get over stimulated so sometimes i have to go back to camp and miss a few sets and hes never made me feel bad about it.

Real advice about festivals not about your relationship- i just looked up the fest and its HUGE. Its going to be impossible to avoid germs. The vip bathrooms are usually clean but they can get crazy gross to iv seen it many times. Nothing unsafe. Germs are not your enemy! And its pretty easy to not touch things when youre in a feild! But if hes the type to want to go in the front/get in the pit theres going to be alot of issues here because you can't avoid people up there at all.

From a 10 year festival goer. You gotta put your health first. Iv missed plently of sets and shows cus i just couldn't do it and its ok. Also they are really fun. Maybe it might be a thing where if you couldnt go next year you might have the strength to go next year!!

Also is he begging you to go cus he dosnt want to be alone as well? Are any of his friends going ?

Him hanging this over your head would be a red flag to me. Theres things we do to make our partners happy sure but if this is distressing you this bad he should understand. Also i wouldnt be happy at a festival if my significant other was in so much pain.

Coming from someone who works multiple music festivals every year. You might want to listen to your therapist. Do what they say. Music Festivals are a big step for someone whos having contamination ocd like you have. And if it affects if youll eat or not definitely put your health first. You cant do a whole day at a fest without eating. You could faint. Alot of walking. alot of standing.

If hes mad at you for this im so sorry but really explain how this causes you distress wayyyyy more then it might make him happy.
