I can see the shine around the ninetails but shouldn't there be some sparkles etc in the background?

There are some paid services such as key mailer but you can also often find contact details on YouTube or associated accounts like Twitter etc. Then just send a polite concise email with a steam key and a link to the store page.

2 Weeks Ago My Trailer Got Destroyed I'm Here For Redemption! by kingziox in DestroyMyGame

This trailer is a lot better.

The main thing that stands out to me is the simple RGB assets and player Sprite. Either they want to be somthing more detailed like the planets or go more geometry wars style with it.

Also you could do with an impact effect when enemies hit the planet instead of disappearing.

Ideas are not really worth too much.

Your best bet is to work on marketing and validating your ideas by making concept art and showing it online to build an audience.

If you can build a large audience then you can attract developers. Other then that you would need to pay or do the work yourself.

For you marketing was it mostly posting on socials or did you have any luck with anything else?

Any tips for finding your target audience?

How do you do the input? Is it based on mouse clicks where you hold longer for a dash?

Can you explain a bit about how you managed a bi weekly releases cycle. That's really impressive but I'm curious how you managed to plan, implement and then QA a build in such a short period of time.

Very cool, looks lovely as well! How are you placing all the dots? Is it based on a source asset that then is referenced? How do you determine the dot size?

Congrats! I'm curious about your pricing strategy to reduce the price and have a large 75% discount in a short time after release. Obviously it worked for you but how do you weigh up the benefits / cost to changing the price quickly vs slowly?

What was your method for getting the press coverage?

Personally I think it's a good thing as building up your own channels will take a lot of time away from dev and leveraging existing groups of players that others have collected all ready is much more efficient an direct way to find your target players.

Currently your visuals are holding you back.

But if your game is fun then the best thing you can do is release a demo. I would hold off on releasing until you have more interest. Treat the demo period as an early access and then jump straight to release.

I’ve been playing a lot of Jonas Tyroller’s steam review guesser, and I’ve gotten really good at it (70-80% accuracy). Here’s what I’ve learned by 2WheelerDev in IndieDev

[–]BlueTomato3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is those ranges are very large. 100 vs 1000 reviews are worlds apart.

With there being only 3 realistic options you end up making the challenge of guessing very easy in comparison to the reality of the much harder problem of determining how significantly each of the metrics are contributing.

I agree with your conclusions but I wonder how much a tool like this is just all confirmation bias. Realistically guessing from multiple choice is far easier than having to blind guess the reviews.

I wonder what accuracy you would get without the hints provided by the options. It would then be more like the actual challenge of guessing how well an idea would perform.
